Game #14 Spurs at Magic ...

Post#1 » by Nemesis21 » Wed Jan 18, 2012 7:03 pm

This is the final game of this back to back to back. Hopefully the Magic aren't too fatigued from the last two nights.
Magic by 5 Go Magic ! Let's keep this play in our back pocket, in case this game goes down to the final seconds,
( I know Brian Hill was coach then)

Spurs will have a bad taste in their mouths from last night's loss against the HEAT. With the words Pop had for the team and their performance, I can expected all of 'em to go hard. We looked tired against the Cats and sadly, I think we'll come out flat and lose tonight.

Hope I'm wrong and we get through the adversity of being tired and battling a GOOD team. This is a crucial step that will show where we are as a team.

The spurs are 0-5 on the road and 9-0 at home.
Spurs missing Manu ginobily is big, last year he beat us by himself in th 4th quarter and throughout his career he has been a hugh magic killer.

The key is to limit tony parker, their 3pt shooting and keep them off the offensive boards.
I predict the spurs to build a big lead and a comeback from us only to fall short in the end, spurs by 3.

Don't know yet.

****** I just tweeted Josh Robbins, he doesn't think J Rich will play tonight. SVG want to make sure the injury does not linger.

The Spurs are gonna be tough tonight, they're angry about last nights loss. The good thing is they're on a back to back, the bad thing is we're on a back to back to back.

Tough team even without Ginobli as they pretty much waxed the Heat for a half.....would love to get a win against a well-coached quality team like the Spurs.....Might be weird of me to say this but i want the Spurs to utilize a "Stay home on the shooters" defense...The more we see that defense in the regular season maybe we'll be more prepared for it in the playoffs

I see us winning this game. Might be tough, but both teams are coming off a back to back. But I like all of our match ups. Dwight will either dominate the paint or force them to double allowing Ryan to get his shots. The key will be to stop penetration into the lane by Parker. I like our chances a lot in this one. Go Magic!

I like our chances too. Plus no Magic killer Manu Gibaldo. Meer should do okay vs Parker, when Parker has the ball, Doo-hon will get killed though. I'd like to see Hughes or Von guard Parker a little bit.

nelson needs try to stay in front of parker and make him shoot more jumpers. If he gets into the lane at will tonight it won't be good.

Richardson-2 wanted to play against the Baby-cats, so he should start this game.

Great GT Nem! This particular game means a lot to me since I'm a true lone Orlando fan in the city of San Antonio and always get teased about it cause I don't show loyalty to the city I live in...

Living here does give me the opportunity to follow the Spurs so I know exactly what we are up against tonight. They have certainly been Jekyll and Hyde this season (dominant at home, mentally weak and lacking focus and energy on the road) but I certainly expect them to play all out tonight. Pop does not call out his team unless it is necessary and they were definitely soft and folded bad in that game against the Heat last night. Does it really matter if they were beating them for a half? The game is played for 48 minutes, not 24. I mean the Bobcats were beating the snot out of Miami earlier in the season and they were at full strength minus Mike Miller for a half and they too lost that game.

In order to get this game, we have to control the boards, play with great energy and effort, and limit Tony and Timmy as much as possible. If we can control one of these guys, then I really like our chances. We really need to be sound on defending the 3 as the Spurs shoot it just as good as we do. I really like some of the advantages we have on offense over theirs so all and all, this will be a great game and a game I want us to win badly! LET'S GET IT!!! 8-)

Good luck pic FTW...

I hope I'm wrong but my gut feeling says the Magic will get blown out tonight.

If they play close to as bad as they played the last 2 nights then it will certainly be the case. Jameer getting exposed vs an aggressive Parker, Dwight going throught the motions getting schooled by Duncan's fundamentals, over-emphasis on the 3's ... could spell doom

Spurs can't win on the road and Duncan is close to finished as a player. They might lose, but I'm certainly not expecting it.
