All Those Empty Seats

Post#1 » by celtspacers » Wed Jan 18, 2012 1:35 am

Anyone noticing all the empty seats at the Pacer games. all the people I've talked to say they're not going back to anymore games until the Pacers get a true star Player. They're tired of either not making the Playoffs or just getting in and not really able to win a Championship. They think the Pacers management are happy to make the playoffs. I'm a season ticket holder and go to every home game and a few away games. I would see these people at every game now they're not going.anyone else feel the way they do. I understand them not wanting to spend they're money.

I've been to two games so far. one was a near sell out and the other was a light crowd on a rainy night. too small a sample to panic. the crowds should come. the basketball is much better.

Weather might also play a part. The lockout. The Hawks have been competitive longer than we have and they can't sell tickets. I feel like when things get rolling, and especially in the playoffs, those seats will be packed. True, a lot of them will go to the bandwagoners, but that can be fun, too.

I hope to catch a postseason game when I drive from Boston to LA after I graduate.

When we played in Philly the other night there was nobody at that game either. Maybe the lockout drove off more fans.

Soon i think the inclusive atmosphere at the fieldhouse will be such that many non-regulars will be returning, it's in their blood.

FYI. It looks bad compared to other people, but we are small-market, and this is an improvement from last season by more than 1000 per game, and it's only going to get better. Plus, the best team we've gone up against at home is the Hawks.

Hey look, more excuses. First, they had too many "thugs", then they were just bad(understandable), now they don't have a star. They ain't fans. They're bandwagon bums. They'll be at the Heat game tho.

the Heat game will fill up with people in LeBron jerseys. that doesn't count. I'm not going to criticize bandwagon fans though. what we need is people to jump on that wagon. if we can make it through this stretch of road games, the wagon will pick up speed.

I'll be shocked if lack of a star affects the great majority of hoosiers. we like our basketball played with hustle and teamwork. we're starting to see that after a long absence. the fans will come.

Indiana is notoriously a bandwagon, fair weather fan state. Colts never had a following in this state hardly at all until Peyton got here and started winning. During Reggie's prime when they were in the playoffs every year, they had a huge following, then when that time ended, it became a ghost town.

I find it ridiculous the crowd for the Celtics game the other night. 9-3 team vs. Boston and we can't sell it out? Come on people? This is a good young team, watch them grow.

It's already in your sig. Self-promotion of this magnitude is considered spamming and against the RealGM TOS.

One could argue the Pacers didn't have a real star during the Miller era, which by the way wasn't the end of huge crowds at Conseco. The riot and subsequent dismantling of a championship contender are the primary factors for the negative fan reaction. I compare it to that guy who proposed to his girlfriend on the jumbotron, and got the bozack in front of the whole arena.

There is a reason the NCAAB used to set attendance records at the Dome.

Speaking of the Heat, sure we'll sell out that game, but that's not the issue. Often times I see highlights of their home games, and I see empty seats everywhere. That wouldn't happen in Indy.
