yeah, the guy is making $6,442,083. That is insanely overpaid for a 2nd contract 6-11 PF/C who averaged 16.8 pts, 8.2 rbs, 2.3 ast, 1.53 steals at 24 years old.

Do you want to include his terrible efficiency and porous defense, or would that be too much trouble for your argument?

Ummmm....how about 11.7, 7.9, 1.3, 1.1 at 25 years old for a guy that can't get motivated to get in shape for 6.4+ mil a year? If I was cutting the check I wouldn't be all that thrilled.

Nahh, I don't want to post that and I wasn't really making an argument other then his really isnt over paid this year base on numbers he put up in the past. And this year isn't over. Everyone started poorly. His last two games his percentages are up and the season is just getting started for this team.

4.5-10 .450%, 11.5 pts , 11 rbs, 34 minutes per game

Actually for January his is shooting .454 on 5.5-12.1
13 pts 8 rbs. 31.6 mins

If he gets to that to 12-14 pts and 11 rebounds in 34 and he is playing team ball, I have no problem with those numbers. That is basically what he did the last two game. Averaging a double double works for me.

I posted how disappointing it was that he came into camp not in the best shape of his life.

That said, I see signs of him maturing even this year. He is trying to play team ball. He excepted coming off the bench with maturity. He was a young knuckhead. Yes he could have done more. But this franchise was also a terrible match for him given his weaknesses. It was a wreck.

He is talented. He is young. And he can still grown up and learn more. He is 25. But time is running out. He needs to turn the corner.

But it all comes down to one main thing I think for most people here. If he would commit to getting in great shape, people would give him more time to grow under this better environment. If he won't do that one basic common sense thing, people will always ride him and jump on his mistakes and shortcoming and want him gone.

If he just came into camp with some muscles, people would give him more slack. But he didn't so he invited the criticism.

Yep, pretty much. I can't accept any "signs of maturity" if he's never in shape. For someone already lacking in strength, speed, and explosiveness, not taking care of himself just kills his effectiveness as an NBA player.

I tried to give 'Dray the benefit of the doubt for six seasons. He's out of freebies.

You did well better than me. Six years in and people still think the light's going to go on. If it hasn't, I'd wager it won't. If it does, and it won't, I'd prefer it was another team trying to work the switch.

On the other hand, has McGee's mother checked in in on AB? I could be wrong.

at the risk of sounding like a dray apologist,
he does get abused by the refs. I don't think
anyone likes this guy, except for the one
or 2 posters on this board.

if only if Dray would shed 25-30 pounds like Love. He'd be so much more agile and be able to jump more than a few inches off the ground.

Does anyone know if Wiz management/coaches can penalize players for being overweight or above a certain body fat %? If so, I don't know why we don;t do that with him.
