Having DLee here would make us easily the best rebounding team in the East, maybe the NBA. We would show more effort on defense and be more fundamental. There would be less turnovers, less isolation, more of a fluid offense. Dorrel Wright would mainly help ensure this. Wright is a solid scorer, and can surely knock down the 3. This would make us a much better basketball team, and we would do more of "playing the right way".

How about Lee/Wright/Ellis for Amar'e/Fields/TD/Walker/future 1st? :D

I think Ellis and Melo would be a disaster. No ball movement whatsoever.

ironically they are both leading their teams in assists while their pg's have been injured.

I don't think that. Based on this season, it seems like Monta's game is maturing. It might be slower than most, lol but it is. I think he can come here with Melo and be successful. Especially with Tyson/Lee paired down low. Would be 2nd best 2/3 combo to Wade/Lebron. Of course with D'antoni, there would be times where Monta would play the 1 and Shumpert play the 2 but Monta actually has great handle and wouldn't be asked to make spectacular passes. We can do this trade at the deadline and still have the MLE to target some quality player(s). We would also have a better chance at winning games when Melo is out or something with Dorrell Wright backing him up instead of Walker/Fields.

This thread is an embarrassment. Two words for the haters - SAMPLE SIZE. Another two words - Shite coach.

Get a clue. If you guys were trading stocks your strategy would be buy high and sell low. Not profitable.

We shoudn't be selling low, forget about trading stat or melo, it is still early. It is frustrating indeed, but just hope and believe the best is yet to come, just hope baron is healthy and we wil be more than just fine...

Get a clue. Some of us were against the panic signing Amare was and wanted him traded over the summer. That has nothing to do with sample size. And obviously, no one wants him traded unless it is a good deal.

We've gone over this Charles. The sample size is not just this season. Amare this season has been a bust, but he wasn't even that great the second half of last season.

He went from being the hero for a 20 game stretch and then burned out and he has never been the same. Whatever his mindset is now, he clearly is not the same player he was physically when he came to New York.

A lot has changed in a year and when you pout about criticism of Amare you are stuck in the past and clinging to your image of him as he once was. He certainly should be able to bounce back and play better since he has nowhere to go up now after sucking so bad this season, but that is not the same as saying he is necessarily ever going to play at high level consistently again.

Considering he barely plays defense for even a full quarter at a time, when his offense game drops off as much as it has you have little basis for acting so offended when people speak the observable truth about the status of his playing.

He has been on a downward trend for 50-60 games after he peaked and blew his wad earlier last season.

So enough with put downs of others posters already. We're here critiquing the team and players because this is a sports board, not a bash the other fans who don't agree with you board.

Exactly. His contract is an albatross, and it became one immediately after he signed it, so much that we all cheered for the amnesty clause, as an "Amar'e insurance" clause.

But obviously if traded, we'd want some quality pieces back, and Amar'e could garner that, if he were playing better.

Marc Stein is reporting Devin Harris is available and the Jazz are looking to trade him.

He wouldn't be my personal choice, but if good pieces were included with him, I would consider.

Amar'e and Balkman for Devin Harris, Raja Bell, Earl Watson, Josh Howard + pick.

It would satisfy the teams needs on both ends.

Amar'e brings a marquee player to the Jazz, along with an energy boost off the bench.

Knicks acquire depth and flexibility.

Lin, Bibby waived in the process.

Milsap, Jefferon, Kanter, Favors are their big men, while half of their roster are guards.

Not sure why you responded to this and be that far wrong.

Milsap, Jefferon, Kanter, Favors are all more PFs than they are Cs. Adding Amar'e would give them 5 PFs. Tyson for Devin makes more sense, but still not a smart trade for us.

Jefferson has played Center for most of his career, and he does so for the Jazz, thus no way to even include Tyson to it.

Kanter and Favors are coming off the bench in smaller roles as they learn the game, so the glut in that position isn't too bad.

Actually Amar'e in the situation would be perfect since he wouldn't have to play more than 30 minutes, and have minutes saved up for the youngsters like Milsap does.

So two number three picks from the last two drafts, and two other big men totaling nearly 40 points per game is not enough big men for them and they should trade their starting PG and his backup plus two other guards for two more big men?

I guess they can start Amare at PG spot. LOL.

What are you talking about?

Jefferson is around 18 and Milsap is around 15 as far as ppg go, and Kanter and Favors barely contribute on offense, as they aare still learning the game.

Utah wants to trade their starting pg according to the report, and half of their roster is guards.

And who's the second big man in my trade idea.....Balkman?

Come on guy, Bakman is not a big man.

Exactly. Right now we are completly underperforming and still better than we've ever been in the last 10 years (aside from early last season when amare and felton were playing incredibly). In the past the hope was always to overperform and ultimately get nowhere. Now we have the capacity to be an elite team yet are playing so horribly that many of us believe this is it. It's not. This team as is can be much much better than any team we've seen since 99 (which was a team that (as has been said over and over) was terrible in the regular season). Let it play out.
