Amare and Shumpert for Pau

Post#1 » by kobe5rings » Fri Jan 20, 2012 3:33 pm

How about this trade? Amare and Shumpert for Pau. We get rid of Amare and get Pau, who is undoubtedly a much better pf. It can't be Amare for Pau straight up, so the Knicks adds Shumpert to the deal to make it work.

By "we" I'm assuming you're a Knicks fan? I don't know many Knicks fans who would have a Laker related user name, avatar and sig.

Odd.

But as for your post - pass on that. I like Pau, but you don't trade stock when their value is the lowest. Amar'e will look like a much better player once Baron gets healthy.

So you want a perennial All-Star and potential ROY for soon to be 32 year-old Pau?

How about NO and GTFO.

I think dude is a Laker fan offering the trade idea to Knick fans.

I would do that sh*t in a heartbeat.

Why can't it be? Both players are making 18 mil, and both have about the same time left on the deal.

Laker fans at it again trying to swindle.

Shumpert wouldn't be needed to make that type of deal work, just wanted.

GTFO.

For the record I would Swap Pau for Amar'e straight up.

You're not losing anything on defense, lol, but you're gaining a smarter player on offense, who doesn't have the injury concerns, and he'd have no pressure to be the man or leader.

Pau is actually the most skilled big man not named Dirk.

No, lol. Shumpert isn't some throw-in. He's a significant prospect.

Lakers might be the only team willing to trade for Amare because they seem determined to get rid of Pau and still want a star in return. Although I don't know how much sense having Shumpert back up Kobe would make, and he can't play PG either.

Amare, Toney, Landry for Pau, Darius Morris, Andrew Goudelock. That would be sweet.

No thanks. And what do you mean "we"? You're a Laker fan. You mean "We get rid of Pau and get Amare Stoudemire and Shumpert..." right?

Seriously though as much as fans love to take the bad and make it worst, I'll pass. Gasol would struggle just as much here with the lack of cohesion, spacing, common sense, etc. etc. on the offensive end IMO.

No way, he can score in the post and pass out of double teams. If anything, he'd make our ball movement better because he's a great passer.

Exactly, Pau can actually handle the ball and is above average passer.

Plus he scores efficient and rebounds very well, and blocks shots too.

He'd be the perfect 2nd fiddle, who'd have zero pressure at all.

I usually agree with you Moo, but not on this one.
