They don't even have their amnesty clause anymore but a team like the Rockets could make run at him or God forbid the Celtics.

Houston could easily clear cap space by declining their options on Thabeet, Flynn, Jordan Hill, and Terrence Williams, or some combination of them.

Boston would have max cap space as well.

However, we would have the right to match any offer that those teams throw out there.

The issue isn't whether we can match, we all know we can but it comes down to who can offer what and what future contract will look like. Hibbert isn't worth max money but he could easily be offered it since teams may have the capspace and the need to throw that crazy contract his way.

I defiantly think Bird throws up in his mouth if he has to sign Hibbert to something close to a max deal.

Uh, no. It's wildly un-realistic to even imagine Hibbert would be offered max money from anyone. Look at Horford and Nene. I think you'll see Hibbert closer to their neighborhoods in theory than a max contract.

The differnce between Marc Gasols contract (max) 4 years and Nene's 5 year contract is 1.1 million dollars per year.

The max other teams could offer Marc Gasol was 4 years 55 mill, 13.75 million per year which is farely close to what Nene is making on a yearly basis now. A team could be daring enough to offer Hibbert close to the max or in other words its not widely unrealistic especially if your using Nene as a bench mark.

I think most people would value Hibbert at around 10-12 mill per year but a lot of teams are hurting for a Center and teams like the Rockets, Celtics or even the Nets could think a 25 year old Hibbert is worth overpaying for especially if his production stays the same.

He's getting four years minimum. At least one team, maybe more will offer a four year year starting around 10-12m.

Those would be terrible. That Hansbrough contract would be worse than Drew Gooden's contract.

I expect Roy to get Gasol like money. He is playing well this season and there will be teams needing a center with lots of cap space this summer. Pacers will need to match whatever gets offered. That's the reality of the NBA. We've invested way to much in Roy to let him get away.

When you look at our future salary expectations it points that much more to the need to move Granger to eliminate salary and create a better opportunity for George.

You know what would be an amazing scenario? If Danny re-structured his contract or signed for less after this current contract. Whether the odds of him doing that and going the Paul Pierce/Tim Duncan/Dirk Nowitzki route remains to be seen.

But if he loves Indiana and truly wants to stay here as much as he says he does, I would love it if that option somehow made its way on the table.

I will be surprised if he is here that long. Between the need to move George to the 3 and future salary demands that's an awful lot working against him.
