GSW get a younger David Lee replacement in Ryno. Get an amazing spot up shooter to complement Curry with JJ, and get a beast of a SF/PF in JSmoov. Atlanta gets their real C in Lee (who has been balling this year), so they could slide Horford to the PF slot. They get another PG in Jameer, who maybe could also just become their new 6th man scorer off the bench, even though he has really been sucking this year. We get our new PG, slasher/creator in Monta to team with Dwight, and a backup SF in Williams (who has finally played decently this year).
Monta/Duhon
JRich/Wafer
Hedo/Williams
BBD/Harper
Dwight/BBD
Hopefully we could then land a backup big for the MLE or even vet-min at some point. The key is getting Monta here, really...and then going from there.

Kobe Bryant has had at least one in-depth phone conversation with Howard recently, even discussing how Howard might fit in with the Lakers' scheme.
One person with knowledge of the conversation said Howard came away feeling as if he wouldn't be the Lakers' top option, for obvious reasons. It's Bryant's team.
hmmmmm......

Players can talk to players....you gotta think the DWill-D12 dinner when NJ was in town they discussed playing together.
Plus the Lakers were on the list of teams Otis gave Howard permission to talk to.

It's certainly within the rules, but I'm just like you .. this stuff always makes me feel uncomfortable.
Dr. Buss can talk to Kobe all he wants, and say, "Tell Dwight that I'll pay X, trade player Y and cut Player Z if he'll come. Let me know what he has to say!"
Unfortunately, I don't think there's any way to stop it - players would never agree to not be able to talk to each other, or have any limitations on what they discuss in a private phone call. Unfortunately, as the league becomes more about superstars' joining forces, this back-channel tampering is going to become even more rampant.

Even with Harris struggling, I don't know if a straight up Meer for Harris would be enough for Utah. Harris is still bigger, a couple years younger, and has the capacity to perform at a higher level. Many of Utah's fans seem to be really underwhelmed with Raja Bell, so if we were to take him back along with Harris, and send out J-Rich as well then our line-up would look like:
Harris/Duhon/Hughes
Redick/Von Wafer/Bell/Liggins
Hedo/Q-Rich/Clark
Ryno/BBD/Clark/Harper
Dwight/BBD/Orton/Ryno
Harris, Bell
for
Nelson, J-Rich
Effectively swapping PGs from our perspective, but helping them out by giving them a 2 that's more competent than Bell and a PG that gives a very similar performance to what Harris has been giving them all for the potential that he improves. This gets us out of the long-term deal of J-Rich, and allows Redick and Wafer to both share the minutes at the 2.

jameer for harris would be a trade you need to make, they both have the same salaries, jameer has a player option next year but do you really think hes leaving $8mil on the table playing this bad? harris is taller, a better passer and runs more. but his shooting is a little sub par, a new direction wouldnt be a bad option
maybe we can throw in clark for favors

I would make that trade but Harris isnt a better passer, they're probablly pretty close in passing/playmaking ability even if he is better it so slight it wouldn't make a difference. A new direction is an excellent idea.
Financially it makes sense, and you may get a better performance because lets be honest here he may just need a change and stranger things have happend. From a financial standpoint you're right but skills wise...His lack of a three point shot would annoy the hell out of everyone.
Landing favors is a long shot but what about Big Al or Milsap?

some not so interesting tweets from BS
Magic GM Otis Smith on the money Dwight Howard can lose by not re-signing. He calls it "the $30 million haircut."
Magic GM Otis Smith: Dwight "didn't directly throw Jameer under the bus," but "indirectly" did, wanting to play with DWilliams or CPaul
Dwight Howard on Shaq saying ABynum is best center: "He just needs to sit down and get on with his life. What's the point of talking trash?"

yea hes not very good at shooting from long range, but we do have enough of those type of players
i think harris is a much better passer, maybe not in play making ability, but hes 6'3 and would be able to make an entry pass to dwight, that right there is a plus, he is also better at running the PnR and finding his man cutting to the basket, jameer runs the PnR and shoots the ball or runs in circles and passes it out for a three, you hardly ever see him make the pass to dwight or any other player in the paint, and harris is better at running a fast break than jameer, getting things in motion can be important in itself
i agree neither are great play makers, but for the simple things that harris can do and jameer cant, it might make up for his shooting and be better for the team

The trade would happen in March 1.
Orlando trades:Jameer Nelson
Receives:Rodney Stuckey
LAL trades:Odom TPE
receive: Nelson
Pistons trade: Stuckey
receive: Odom TPE
In my opinion Stuckey would improve our perimeter defense with his size and on the offensive end he can draw fouls and his ability to attack the basket is needed also he seems to have improved his three point shot and is a very good mid-range shooter.
Stuckey
Jason Richardson
Hedo
Ryan
Dwight
Would be a very balanced lineup

^I don't think you can use a TPE in a multi-team trade. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

J-Rich needs to kick rocks.....Too inconsistent and virtually brings nothing to the table that Redick can't emulate

It would work as a series of consecutive trades. Remember, TPE's aren't traded - they are created and used up.
ORL TRADES: Jameer Nelson
ORL GETS: $8.6 mil TPE
then
DET TRADES: Stuckey
DET GETS: $8.5 mil TPE
Sebas is clever for generating this TPE as well, because he sidesteps Stuckey's BYC.
And as SEBAS states, Stuckey's new free agent contract and BYC status means he can't be traded until March 1. However, the trade works find under the current CBA

Ric, despite the signing of Rip Hamilton, I still think the Bulls are a gun short (offensive playmaker) of beating Miami. Do you agree? And if so, are there any trade option out there for them to get that last piece?
Ric Bucher
(1:04 PM)
I kind of agree. I feel as if Rip was a nice addition, but not the perfect one. I don't see them making a deal because they love their chemistry and if the second unit continues to play D as they have, that might be enough to compensate for the missing extra gun. If they do add a piece, a stretch 4 is what they need. Ryan Anderson would be a great fit.
Imagine the Bulls with Redick and Anderson

From Bucher chat....
Unofficial, but interesting. If the Magic could keep Turk, Anderson, and Redick in a Lakers trade they would arguably be better than before the trade. This would go along with ownership's decision to take on veterans. They aren't interested in clearing cap space necessarily.
Trade Dwight/Davis/Nelson to LA for Gasol/Bynum
PG/JJ/Hedo/Gasol/Bynum
Duhon/Wafer/Q Rich/Anderson/Backup C
In a separate deal, move a SG for a PG. Not sure how this would work or who'd be moved, JJ or J-Rich, hopefully J-Rich, but not sure we could move him for someone decent.
Then sign someone like Pryzbilla or Rasheed to be the backup C for a couple months.
Problem as I hear it is they are on slightly different pages. Mitch wants to hold onto Pau and see if they can package him with Bynum to get Dwight. Buss wants to move Pau now for help/depth and thereby also eliminate the chance that his pet project, Bynum, goes anywhere. That's the unofficial buzz.

I dont think he's better at the PnR....harris flails to driving to the basket in PnR's to get to the line, his strength isnt find his man on the roll. In terms of jameer supposedly running in circles to either make a pass or shoot the ball...Isnt that what you're supposed to do in the PnR? I think it's a wash at best tbh, assuming Harris returns to form he does get to the line with his offensive flopping which is the one thing I hate the most in basketball.
There is nothing in this world I hate the most them some b*tch ass basketball player flailing everytime someone breaths on him.....I hate that with a PASSION. but if it helps the team win....Whatever.

The Magic have not ruled out making a run to trade for Steve Nash in the event the Suns decide to put him on the market, according to sources.
Nash is eligible to become a free agent at the end of the season.
Orlando is committed to playing out the remainder of the 11-12 season with Dwight Howard, according to sources.
