Nice. I assume Otis must be wondering why J-Rich is terrible now when he was good on Phoenix. That combined with Jameer's slump has got to have the wheels spinning in Otis' head.

Welp...Start crossing fingers that Dwight decides to stay because I dont think nash can sustain a high level of play throughout the year. The FO is in a tough spot imo...Think about it. They want to stay competative which helps convince Dwight to stay but they also need to clear cap to sign a player to convince dwight to stay.

I mean do you start moving guys effectively hurting the chemistry and maybe not be as successful this year or do you risk that to clear cap for next year. As a fan I want to see the latter but I wonder how Dwight would respond. He has to know that the chances of winning a title this year aren't that good.

Would you do it?

I agree with you, Nash's age is really taking a toll on him and I think we'd need a very good back up point guard to split minutes with Nash. But the intangible leadership that he'd bring the floor is priceless. He'd run the pick n roll beautifully with Dwight, and apparently his contract expires at season's end? If he really is an expiring contract, I say we take that deal.

Yeah dude, as much as I like Jameer imo something has to be done to maximize Jrich. Obviously nash was a huge reason why Jrich was so effective.

They're competitive now. They made the moves to remain in the top 4 in the East. That's competitive. They can make moves to become even better without sacrificing cap space. But, it might not happen until March 1st, so we need to be patient. This team as currently constructed can maintain a top 4 spot in the East until March 1st.

But, what if the Suns want Redick/Filler for Nash next week? Will Nash make J-Rich and Wafer good enough that we can live without Redick? Nash is a 11 mil expiring this year. Will we even be able to afford Redick's new contract?

Oh yeah undeniable, it would be amazing to watch and from a financial standpoint it makes sense for us. Scary part would be depending on Duhon assuming Jameer would have to go to PHX do they get Brooks back once his contract in China is up? Is it even possible to land Nash without trading Jameer?

imo it's either JJ or Ryan...Can we live without JJ...Im sure we'd be fine.

if you can get nash without giving up redick or anderson you do it, i highly doubt that's possible, the only down side is, im sure the suns want to free themselves of childress or dudley

but i like how age is taking a toll on nash

nash: 30.9minutes, 15.1pts, 10.1 ast, 55% and 43% from three, per 24.08
meer: 30.7minutes, 8.3pts,, 5.4 ast, 39% and 26% from three, per of 9.59

We need Nash to play well for 22 games and the playoffs, I'm sure he'd be fine.

He's a HOF pg what the point? This is the reason why Nelson isnt on the decline, he's more athletic than Nash and a few years younger. Obviously a slump. Steves age IS taking a toll on him because he cant sustain a high level of play and the drop off could happen in the PO's. It's been the case for at least the last couple of years. What an epic fail if we move meer for nash who get's injured right before the PO's and we have to rely on Duuhon

Yeah I agree. If we can get him enough rest during the regular season, he can play bigger minutes in the playoffs, which is all that matters.

It would be fun to finally watch our team play at a fast pace.

I'd glady take Childress's contract if it meant getting Nash

Nash would be PERFECT here, and he wouldn't have to do anything but distribute. There are enough scorers here that he could take it easy on that portion of his game. As it is, we're already not getting point production from the PG spot.

I'd love to get Nash. Perfect PG for our team IMO.

steve nash would make us a contender for sure, maybe even win a title. ryan anderson would get even more open looks (scary for opponents) and jrich would greatly improve. I can't even imagine how good our offense would be.

you take the chance with any player going down, fact is nash has been more reliable than jameer in his career, even at his old dinosaur self, and yet he still plays more minutes, and he still plays in more games, and hes still better at this age, its only for a couple months and if the price is right you take the chance, hell jameer has always been at an average level and hes well below average right now, a trade wont go down in the next couple weeks so there is still time for jameer to work things out (hes still not the answer) and to see how nash responds during the season
