I'll wait until Howard is traded to something other than the Nets before worrying about Deron.

Yea, if Howard is traded to the Lakers or another team and signs an extension, the Knicks can basically seal a deal with the Nets.

1. yes, you're right. neither are going anywhere.
2. top PG in the league doesn't deserve max? if JJ and amare can get max, doesn't dwill deserve it?

reread 2. he's saying deron won't less then max.

What you said doesnt make sense. But if you mean to read that deron will only take a max contract, i know, i said he deserves one...

Plausible. But what team is Howard going to? Lakers? Seems like the only other option.. and i'm not sure they'll part with Bynum.. Though if they keep struggling they may.

I would offer this trade...

Deron Williams, Jordan Farmer, Marshon Brooks for Carmelo Anthony, Iman Shumpert and Toney Douglas. If D"antoni is going to be the coach Deron Williams would make this team better than the current one. Amare and Landry Fields are going to be more effective, Farmer is a formidable back up, and Marshon Brooks is starting shooting guard who can shoot better than Shumpert.
The Nets do it because Carmelo is signed for 3 years.

Our luck is, Dwight gets traded to Lakers. Then out of no where, the Celtics pull the trigger on a Deron Williams deal and he stays there.

Only way he comes to the knicks is through a trade or he takes the mid-level exception. I doubt it. Acquiring him would be super, too bad it can't happen though.

Since he had words with Sloan? He didn't show up after t.hat and the team went down with him.

I don't want to trade anyone but last night's loss againt the Bucks is tearing my confidence apart. This is just terrible.

Why make it such a big deal? IMO the deal to make if it can be made is Melo for D-Will (trade machine says it works - http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachi ... Id=4a3o7eu).

Tyson
Amar'e
Fields (at his actual position)
Shumpert
DWill

You don't think that lineup will be able to defend and move the basketball? .... oh yea, and win some games as well?

Now, I don't do anything until you see what this team is like with Davis, but if this team continues to stink with a PG something's gotta give and the best way to get a real PG for the future is to trade Melo.

For those talking about Amar'e; between his contract, his health and poor play, the guy is untradeable. The best bet is to get a PG in here with him and see if he can revert to his former self. (Baron, again, could possibly do this)

I rather trade for Monta Ellis/Lee in a deal around Amar'e,Fields,TD and others than trade Melo for anybody not named Kevin Durant, Lebron James or Derrick Rose.

It's a joke to put Melo's name next to those guys. Melo is a great scorer. Those guys are great basketball players.

What makes Durant a "great basketball player"

This is comical. Who really thinks the Nets and Knicks would trade superstars with each other? In fact, who thinks they would trade any one at all with one another?
