WTF @ Travis Outlaw

Post#1 » by tru6playa » Sun Jan 22, 2012 7:04 pm

I had no clue we were on the hook for 4 years for this guy...

The Kings have to pay Outlaw $12 million over four years after bidding $3 million to claim him Dec. 17.

$3 million a year isn't THAT bad of a contract for a guy like him.

But ya he has been trash this year and it is quite discerning that he will probably be around for a while.

Outlaw has been garbage, yes, but I want a chance to see him play without that boxing glove on his shooting hand.

4 years is way too long,

If by some miracle he outperforms 3 mil per, can use a trade bait, but that is a long shot.

The idea was to pick him up as a 6'9" defender/shooting specialist with reliable three point range. I am hoping that the hand injury is what is keeping him from finding some consistency with his jumper and limiting his aggressiveness on D.

Portland fan here. If you go back on our board youd find numerous threads about Outlaw. He was by far my least fav blazer. His BBIQ is written on the clock. This is his game...pass up the wide open three and take a few steps in and take a insane contested fadeaway shot. complete trash. It was a very glorious day when i heard he was leaving (along with blake). I can feel your guys pain with TrOut. And after he left Portland he just became worse. Sorry you guys wound up with him.

I thought the Kings were on the hook for the contract that the Nets gave him. I thought it worked like a waiver claim. so the reality is better then that.
