As per Jerry Crasnick

Apparently the Jays are trying to sign every old player left in the MLB this offseason.

The Jays need a back-up infielder, so that is likely going to be Vizquel's role. Basically a replacement for McDonald.

How old is he?
PitholeCreek
@ShiDavidi @jcrasnick Some Vizquel trivia: he's the last active major leaguer to have played at Exhibition Stadium.

By the way, is that his real name and his real age?

Let's bring Matt Stairs back out of retirement to be a left-handed bat off the bench.

Still one of the best infielders in the game even at his age better than McCoy that's for sure.

I can't believe that this is going to be a full year deal, it must be a training camp invite or a non-fully guaranteed deal.

Ancient though he may be, he's not a bad option as a utilityman.

Exactly who's he taking at bats away from? McCoy? Diaz? May as well get someone with some experience who can be a positive influence in the club house.

I don't think it's a guaranteed deal according to Omar's twitter. He has to earn a spot.

Makes more sense, you don't throw guaranteed money to anyone at his age. If he comes in fit then why not? :dontknow:

Return to Toronto Blue Jays
