Good PG's can set the tempo and basically control how you play the game...For example take Portland last year when Andre Miller was running the show they were a slow methodical half-court team.....Now with Felton they are one of the best running fast-break teams and it seemed like it happened overnight....We need to pick up the pace or get someone that will....

We need team speed homie especially at the guard positions. I do believe that we may need to start shopping Jameer around for a guard that can improve the tempo and promote better ball movement. It was very disturbing to see a veteran PG in Jameer basically be shut down by a 2nd year player who barely cracked the rotation last year. In fact the only reason Bradley is playing is because Dooling is out.

yeah that really disturbed me as well....in fact that was the last straw for me to be honest...when you have trouble performing basic PG duties something is wrong....Hopefully Otis sees what we see...Maybe Dwight saw it and that's why he wanted those other PG's...I think Devin Harris might be the move that we make only because it's the most realistic and doable trade....Devin Harris is still one of the faster PG's in the game...he would be the fastest PG we've had in years...One of the things we need is speed and he has it...he could be a good fit

Yeah, I think we first started seeing the decline last year in the PO's. He hasn't been the same since.

It almost reminds me of Rashard, to be honest. I hate seeing it.

Celtics fan: I haven't watched a whole lot of Magic games this season but just so you know Bradley is thought of by Doc and Danny (who've stated it several times in the past) as the "best perimeter defender on the team." Danny Ainge said straight up that he was a better defender than Rondo and Tony Allen (he said this last season).

He's a great defender at the PG spot. So I don't know if Jameer usually looks that bad but I'm guessing he usually plays better. Bradley is a nightmare matchup for him.

Hopefully it's a better game on Thursday. I can't see the Magic shooting so poorly two games in a row and I'm sure that Stan will try to come up with something (setting more picks in the backcourt) to deal with the pressure from Bradley and perhaps Rondo if he comes back.

Rondo, maybe, but Tony Allen?? Nah.

But props to the kid. He outperformed his competition.

Yep, definitely

Well I try to watch games from everyone in the NBA so I have watched a few Celtics games and can definitely see that this kid can defend. He is very smart, quick and has very good instincts without reaching. From a Magic's fan point of view, it is very sad to see your veteran point guard be shut down to the point that he was scared to bring the ball up. I'm sure we will run more screens in the back court and hopefully we will pick up the tempo and give you guys a much more competitive game on Thursday.

Just so you know those were Danny Ainge's words, not mine.

I love Tony Allen. Most exciting and crazy ask defender in the game. I remember one time he went through a guys legs (from behind) and stole the ball from him. LOL! Tony Allen is the best defender because he can defend anybody.

Bradley is like the Tony Allen of Point Guards.

So if we go through with the knee jerk trades a few people including myself wants then we're looking at.....
Harris
SJax
Hedo
Anderson
Dwight

might be the anger talking but that lineup is a bit better than what we got now...Harris and Jackson would change the way we play...

I wonder if Jax could change the identity of this team, as well.

The Dallas Mavs used to remark how Chandler changed their identity into a tougher team when he came, I wonder if Captain Jack can do that for us? That's what we need, imo.

Would stop sh*t like this from happening.

Makes you wonder why we were getting tall guys who could shoot the 3 (because we are lacking on people who do that), instead of a PG during the draft. We could have always used one I mean is Duhon really a backup option? The guy is just a house plant out there. Just to have something in the space.

Would really like to know the thoughts about this game, especially from Stan. I really want to hear what he thinks about Jameer's level of play tonight.

Avery Bradley has been my sleeper candidate on that draft class.

"Aaron Gordon will cost Henny's job by Dec 2016." Predicted Dec 2014.

"O'Quinn will have a longer and more successful NBA career than Nicholson." Predicted Jun 2012. Verified on Dec 2014.

i think any trades we make will only make us worse unless its simply changing pgs. especially if otis is working the phones, i bet he is the laughing stock of other gms. bass for davis? talent wise thats a bad trade. Phx gm: "yea i got gortat WHILE getting rid of turk and an old jrich. i also got a 1st in the deal!" (other gms laugh together) thats a move of the year

I think he could....say what you want about Jackson but the man is tough and hardnosed....He may be 33 but he can play just as good as J-Rich has been playing(and that's not saying much) plus Jackson actually plays some defense....Jackson brings those intangibles that you need on a team....the type of player that you want to go to battle with and you know he'll have your back....

Mentally strong players is what we need and sorry meer you proved to me tonight you are a mental midget...got punked by a bench player who normally wouldn't even play...We have to get tougher and shed some of our softness...Starting with Jameer...Sorry JNO guys not hating just speaking from my heart..

I like the description for SJax, and that is precisely the reason why I think Dwight wants him. Nothing about him is all that spectacular, but when you talk about "changing the culture of this team", SJax fits that bill to a T.

I just can't believe what has happened to Meer, though. I hate it, too, but it definitely looks like it's coming to an end for Jameer. 16 games in (almost a month into the season, quarter of the way through) and nothing has really changed.

I know he said something along the lines of the team being horrible tonight, and he was at the forefront of that.

Not sure what else was said, after tonight I'm going to make a point ot never think about this game again.

Stan said he's never experienced a team play as badly as the Magic did vs. Boston in his entire coaching career. Never had every single guy be terrible. So he couldn't blame any one guy.
