Andray Blatche

Post#1 » by becorz » Tue Jan 17, 2012 5:57 pm

I was wondering how you guys would feel about having Andray Blatche on the Kings. I think he brings an element to the Kings that we don't currently have on the team and might be a good fit, in a purely basketball sense (and assuming he is healthy). The issues are his personal problems and contract.

What would you think about a trade like Salmons and JT for Blatche? I don't think the Wizards would do that (at least now), but if they did, would you do it if your the Kings? Do you wait because of all the big men in the draft this year?

<---------------- Kings fan, already have Salmons :D

I just think that Blatche would be a good fit for the Kings and that we might think about it if they would do a Salmons for Blatche trade.

I live in DC, and watch a lot of wizards games. IF we added blatche to our roster he would instantly be the most selfish player on the team. He would also have the lowest basketball IQ. We have no ball movement on this team now, adding a guy like Blatche is completely insane, the guy is a total black hole.

Fair enough.

I don't really watch Wizards games (unless they are playing the Kings) and I didn't think Blatche was a black hole on offense. If that is true, then I would be against this also. I do think the Kings could use a shot blocker/rebounding type though.

Lets put it this way.

Blatche is a guy who could play in the post and has his coach Saunders begging him to play in the post, but he shies away from all of the contact and spends his time on the perimeter. ONce the ball is in his hands he gets tunnel vision and jacks up shots constantly.

So...he's Dante Greene? (as in he jacks up shots constantly when he should do something else)

Donte Greene, John Salmons, Francisco Garcia...yep we have a lot of those types already.

I think I'd prefer him less than anybody else in the league right now. He's the opposite of the kind of personality we need to add here.

Wizards fan here. Dude is an uber-talented player, but is lazy, out of shape, and can play selfish at times. He's similar to DeMarcus Cousins, but I think Cousins plays with more heart.

Amnesty Salmons does nothing for this team.. Id rather trade him for a player or two. Of course you get back what you trade however maybe we can find a steal somewhere. You never win if you fold.

What about Javele McGee? Like I said, I think the Kings could use a big who can block shots and rebound to go in the frontcourt rotation with Hayes and Cousins. Do you think he would fit with the Kings, knowing they would likely have to pay him somewhere in the range of 10 million a year? What would you realistically give up?

Amnestying Salmons frees up enough cap space for the Kings to actually sign an impact free agent or even TWO this summer. I'd rather do that than trade him for a marginally talented head case like Blatche.

There are few trades of Salmons that make sense more than Amnestying him.

Amnestying Salmons will only happen if we start signing people like crazy, which isn't likely. There is no reason to amnesty him unless you absolutely need his cap space. Otherwise, you might as well pay him and force him to at least sit on the bench. And, honestly, what big free agents are we going to sign that are going to force us to amnesty him?
