Team Advice: FA Help
Instead of creating random topics, I thought I would keep all my possible requests for some advice in a single topic and bump it whenever I seek some help. I hope this is ok. The help from Apathy, 76ciology and some other folks is very much appreciated.

I am not used to Roto leagues. This is the first time playing in this format. I'm not really sure how to manage games played... trying to learn as I play.
I've been trying to move Tyreke Evans. No success so far.

Re: Advice for my team
Head to Head League,
Should I trade Cousins + Nelson FOR Monroe?
I will pick up Baron Davis and give him a shot. I've heard mixed opinions about this trade and I've been sitting on this deal for days now, but want to decide asap. Against Monroe is the lack of blocks... and some believe in Cousins high ceiling.
Thank you

Re: Trade Advice: Cousins for Monroe
I'm same with Apathy here. Do the deal.
We're talking about using a top 100+ fantasy player in Nelson to compensate the gap between Cousins (top 60) to Greg Monroe (top 20).
After the deal, since this is H2H, I'd punt blocks and drop/trade Ibaka for additional help at the assists and 3ppg category.

Re: Trade Advice: Cousins for Monroe
I made the trade. I had asked for the opinion of those yahoo/rotoworld experts and there were actually mixed opinions on said deal, that's why I was not so sure about it.
Apathy, I appreciate how blunt you always are.
76ciology, my team is updated in the first post. I don't own Ibaka. I have McGee. Blocks had been my strongest category actually.
Any suggestions for other moves? Perhaps move Wall due to his poor FG% and high TOs? Not sure who to aim at though.
I've been trying to get Marc Gasol, since he is playing so well and the Grizzles have a good playoff schedule. The other guy asked me for McGee plus Hibbert for him. That's a bit too much, right?
Another deal the other guy takes:
Hibbert + MarShon Brooks for Marc Gasol
This is his team: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1162723/m8.jpg
This is the waiver wire, sorted by rankings: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1162723/waivers.jpg

no, that's agood deal for you
i had gasol ranked around 32nd before the season
now i'd rank him (w/ randolph's injury) around 20-25
hbbert/brooks for gasol is an absurd steal for you

I took the deal. Can you have a look at my updated team above?
I'm just a bit frustrated with Eric Gordon's situation, no clear news on him. If the official news are that he'll be out 6 weeks, should I hold or drop him?
At the moment I'm carrying dead weight in Gordon and also Baron Davis, do you have any confindence that he might put up valuable numbers if he gets healthy for Knicks?
Any suggestions as to who to add? http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1162723/waivers.jpg
I'm thinking of adding Landry Fields, since he has been playing well the last few games.
Thanks for the feedback.

Re: Trade Advice: Getting Marc Gasol
yeah, i think picking Baron D. was NOT needed, but brings down your roster value and increases your risk. we dont' know what B. Davis can do!? plus, he's got a back issue that could linger for the remainder of his career and he's "out of shape". Y would you wanna pick that up? The KNICKS don't have an identity yet and they're play is disfunctional and it shows. plus, the KNICKS extended T. Douglas's contract. this is NOT a young B. Davis w/the HORNETS anymore! Get rid of him! Even if and when B. Davis plays again, his minutes will be limited.
Gordan-he should be out 3-4 weeks, plus the HORNETS really need him. the timeframe is assigned for him healing from a bruise and resting fully. a bruise takes about a couple of months to heal. Gordon has been hampered with the injury since the end Dec. 2011.
Landry Fields...c'mon man:( isn't there another pick out there?

Re: Trade Advice: Getting Marc Gasol
you can drop gordon. issues like this are always messy and could easily end up in his whole season being canned
it's a roto league so the end of your bench doesnt matter as much and you damn sure shouldn't be playing everyone on your roster every one of their active games. that's a recipe for disaster.

I know what you mean, the odds are that even if he does come back and play significant minutes, he'll go down again. On the bright side, as you say the Knicks are a mess and they're almost looking up to him as a saviour... so it was appealing to gamble on him...
These are the guys that are available: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1162723/waivers.jpg

On my first post I listed the two leagues where I have a serious interest in. Gordon is in my h2h league. More reason to drop him?
But taking what you said, should I stash Randolph in my roto league? I've committed some sins as far as playing some inconsistent players go. Do you have a "formula" as to how to pace yourself in the games played by position? It's my first time playing this format for me.
This is my team: http://games.espn.go.com/fba/clubhouse? ... 8&teamId=6 I was thinking of offering Tyreke Evans for Ginobili, I don't know if the other guy would take it, but would that be a smart move?

yeah, Z-BO will be back in beast mode after the ASB, end of Feb.-1st week in March.
jump on the Lin-sanity wagon! i know it's hard, but this guy should fill the role with Stoudamire back and Melo. Stoudamire played well with NASH and Lin's play is similar. he's just got to share the ball with MELO to be effect in multi CATS i.e. assist, pts

I missed out on Randolph while waiting out on Gordon. After the latest update of 6 weeks out, I finally dropped him but too late... missed out on Randolph, Pekovic, Chandler and JR Smith.
I did add Lin though.
My team currently stands:
12-Team H-2-H League

BN Kemba Walker (Cha - PG,SG)

I have this offer on:
My Lin for his Irving. I was trying to get Lin + Joe Johnson FOR Irving + Millsap. What do you suggest me to do? I have been trying hard to sell Lin high.
I have thought of offering Lin for Gay. Gay has a nice playoff schedule. Would you recommend this deal if he accepted?
My waiver wire is thin, there's:
Eric Gordon
Gerald Henderson
Blatche
Bayless
Ayon
Vazquez
Sessions
Brandon Knight
Landry Fields
Brandon Bass
Bismack Biyombo
Stephen Jackson
Gordon Hayward
Ben Gordon

Personally, I'd keep trying to work an Irving for Lin (+ parts) trade. I've had Irving all season and he's far-exceeded my expectations. It's still unknown how Lin will do once the knicks integrate Melo, Smith, and even Baron Davis into the line-up, but I don't think his numbers will improve or for that matter remain.
Edit- forgot about BD

Irving has a very nice FG%, hits some threes and scores points. He just doesn't get many assists or steals. I tend to wonder, without Varejao around, that Cavs team is even more lacking in talent and that may hurt his numbers. I haven't watched more than 3 or 4 Cavs games though where Irving looked nice.
In any case, I'm tempted to pull the trigger on this straight up deal seeing as I've been unable to get more in return for Lin thus far and the hype surrounding him will likely die down a bit and with it the opportunity to sell him high on that.
Packaging Lin + Joe Johnson for let's say Wade or Rose. Is this too much of a reach for me?

vasquez, sessions, biyombo also worth a look
with a WW like that try to pull off a 2-for-1. btw i wouldn't be looking to sell high on lin necessarily. you have a crapload of PGs and lin will be fine. id try shopping john wall or kemba walker. you can win TOs consistently if you ditch wall and lin reduces his TOs drastically when melo/stat return. srsly, wtf is taking melo so long? ridiculous
gay's mad overrated but if that's the best you could do i guess since you have a billion PGs.
you're not getting rose/wade for lin and jj.
maybe wall and lin. wall's been a beast this month and i really think you should capitalize on it before he starts raping your FG% again

Apathy,
I kind of expect you to say "what kind of bush league do you play in", but, on the back of tonight's game with the Mavs, I pulled this trade: Joe Johnson + Lin FOR Chris Paul. The other guy was hurting with injuries... if that justifies anything, although with the way Lin has been playing, you have to wonder what his floor his for the rest of the season. I'm kind of wondering if this will be vetoed? Should it?
I just wanted to get rid of Joe Johnson who has a miserable h2h playoff schedule. Teague is next up on my list to move.
Assuming the trade goes through, my roster will look like this:
H-2-H League 9 cats

I kind of like Hayward who should get minutes all season and when playing well, fills the stat sheet.

I'll be trying to target Wade... with Wall. I've also been looking at Holiday... maybe I can buy low on him.

Thanks for the feedback and sorry about the absurdly long posts.

that's a good deal, def not vetoable. you should be a lock for 1st
andre miller is the best on that list so you dont need to drop him. you need boards. biyomboooo! iono, i've had him as a sleeper from the get-go.
i dont trust fields either but i love his game and it's been working so far. d'antoni's a pretty smart coach too for all the grief he gets too. but get isaiah thomas i guesssss. i'd take them over prince and knight

Re: Team Advice: FA Help
Apathy, thanks for your continued feedback.
I've been following some of your posts on here and I understand how you value Fields. Unfortunately he has been picked up... as was Biyombo... who may get dropped eventually if he doesn't string some good games together, so I'll be on the look out for that.
On my Head to head league:
PG Chris Paul (LAC - PG)
SG
G Stephen Curry (GS - PG)
SF Danilo Gallinari (Den - SF)
PF Pau Gasol (LAL - PF,C)
F JaVale McGee (Was - PF,C)
C Greg Monroe (Det - C)

Util Jeff Teague (Atl - PG,SG)
Util John Wall (Was - PG)
BN Brandon Knight (Det - PG,SG)
BN Isaiah Thomas (Sac - PG)
BN Andre Miller (Den - PG)
Do you value Brandon Knight? He kind of seems like he is coming around as far as his TO's go and adjusting to the NBA game... he is shooting better lately. Not sure about his minutes. Do you prefer him over Kemba Walker, for instance?
I have been trying to trade Andre Miller/Jeff Teague. Teague has a bad playoff schedule. I couldn't pass up on Isaiah Thomas... so I just have a ridiculous amount of Pgs now.
Can you think of guys I could target to unload my Pgs? I have been thinking of offering Miller for Dudley straight up. Would Teague + Miller for Rubio be a good one for me? Teague + Miller for a guy like Ilyasova, is too much or for Frye?
FA's available:

Richard Hamilton
