Again, why would you think that Nash wants to re-sign with a bottom-dweller for cheap? NYK has already put out there that they will be looking to sign him for the MLE next year, as would MIA and a few other teams with a shot.

Nash will not be re-signing. We could offer him $11M and he would still take his talents elsewhere.

It's time for a fire sell now.

Facts:
Attendence is at 15 k per game and that's being generous.
The team is not even close to .500 mark.
The Lopez hype was a myth as usual from the suns organization.
Our best player (gortat) is a 3rd best player on a contender.

Get what u can while u can. For those of you who watched the suns during the Barkley years know that he was bigger then life and more popular then Nash. And the organization still traded him. Even traded majerle! Shoot majerle had his own chocolate bar named after him! I think it was called the thunder bar. Jerry c knee when it was time to move on. Sarver doesn't know or is just using Nash to sell tickets. I don't know. Even Boston gave the green light for fire sell, please suns follow suit. Barkley kj majerle years were my favorite but I knew when it was time to move on. That time is here again!

The truth!!

- I don't mind the Suns losing...... because it shows the TRUTH about the state of this team.
Winning games, gets everyone's hopes up.... for what?..... 10th place and mediocrity?... when the team does not have much youth to develop to a new core?
It HURTS seeing the Suns lose... but the consolation price is that the Suns get to be in the lottery draft.... The games I DO want the Suns to win no matter what.... games against the Lakers..... I never ever ever like seeing the Suns losing against that team....

- At the end of the rainbow..... Suns gets a clean slate to create a new core.
~ Markief Morris is a good start.
Get a top 10 pick this year, get a franchise changing corner stone type player...
Get a top 5 pick and you have your 2nd or 1st option type player covered....

And if Suns do not luck out and get 2x star FAs or potential stars..... this off season, then extend the rebuild to 2013...
- Get a top 5 pick and you get a chance to draft the player hailed as the next Superstar SG in the league.... Shabazz Muhammad.

The Suns also get to offer max contract to James Harden..... who is currently a borderline star, with responsibility to be the "veteran" leader, he may even become a fix All-Star.

Teams like Wizards, Kings, Pistons, Raptors etc... are all terrible teams, yes.... but if you look at Wizards, Kings, Pistons etc.... they have nice stars in the making already in John Wall, Demarcus Cousins/Evans, Monroe etc..... getting another top 5 pick this year could propel these teams to playoff action immediately if not very soon.

Why do a fire sale? Just to get $0.50 on the dollar? Sorry, but that is stupid.

The truth, no one is offering us anything for any of our guys except Gortat. And even then, they will wait for the typical knee jerk move initiated by our owner, and carried out by yet another lame GM, where we take it up the tailpipe.

Stand pat for now. Wait for the teams that actually need Nash for a possible finals showing to come knocking, and take the pick or young talant they have to offer. Hopefully you don't take on salary.

After all that, the large cap space we have will be good for the second or third teir players, who will only come if we over spend. But, I feel the best part of having that cash will be stealing guys from teams looking to clear space to court DHoward or DWill. With the money we have, we could absorb a few decent young guys.

Standing pat? Not such a good idea. Try an unload childress, either way he is gone after this year via amisty or trade. Hill and Nash are players that can push a team to the finals. Get some draft picks. And if u can get something for lopeZ right now then that's a bonus!

Right now we have the 9th worst record in the league. I think it's safe to say we'll be picking in the top 10 unless the pick pong machine is rigged. We should take the best SG/SF available and sign the opposite position in FA (maybe Mayo or Chandler). Role with Price at PG and create a more defense oriented team. Sign dome depth guys on 1 year deals and still have room for 2013. In a perfect world we get another 1s round pick and develop a PG.

I'd keep Gortat and Morris

Trade everyone else for some youth and/or picks

Why not keep Gortat? he's cheap for what he does, we have him under contract for 3 years, he's a pro, has a strong work ethic, and we could basically not worry about a 4 or 5, cos he fills a 'must fill' spot on a decent team. Morris ditto, cheap, serviceable.

Dudley - love him, but he might net a late 1st on a contender. He'd be an IDEAL SF for the Lakers...even a team like BOS could use him as a 6th man type, or OKC as a backup to Durant

Lopez - never liked him, never. Lots of teams need size/a C - ATL? BOS? if both are finishing well around the deadline, we might be able to snag a late 1st from one of them

Childress - amnesty candidate. I like him, but at half the price

Frye - a contender could use him, definitely. Why not look at something like Lopez + Frye to BOS for Jeff Green? He could be a nice piece next to Gortat

Hill - wherever Nash ends up, hopefully. So a contender...hopefully...

Brown/Telfair - meh, nobody will want either of them

I don't know what to think of this team anymore. Nash leaves EVERYTHING he has out on the court, as does Gortat...the others are just coasting/collecting paychecks.

Doesn't matter how many bad eggs you use, they won't make a good omelette.

How are you going to unload Chilldress, when he can't get off the bench ahead of Telfair. Isn't happening. We couldn't even get rid of Peitrus, and he was expiring, and useful.

Who is offering us picks? I haven't heard of one trade from our front office or another saying we could get draft picks for our players. If you have a legit source, have a mod check it out. If not, your so called deals are just fantasy.

There is no way in heck that Sraver is going to amnesty Chilldress this coming offseason. You are dreaming if you think Sarver is going to hand Chilldress a check for $21 million dollars to just go away. He wouldn't pay an extra $8 million just to keep a valuable KT, even when we had a window at a chip. He didn't want to pay it, so badly, that he included two unprotected firsts. That offseason he also gave away James Jones (very good defensively for us) and Rudy Fernandez (who we could have stashed overseas for year and not worried about his salary, who was tailor made for D'Antoni offense).

So again a fire sale is dumb. In the end, the team will get screwed, and only get maybe one crapshoot pick, which will most likely be a late first. We have to wait it out, until another team is the desperate ones, not us. For we get completely screwed the other way around, and learned absolutely nothing from that summer of loss.

I agree with keeping Morris, but if Gortat could net us some nice pieces for our rebuild, i would have to do it. With a Gortat trade, getting another 1st in the draft is a must. If we could get 2-3 young talent players, who havent quite reached their potential yet or quite lived up to the hype that they were drafted with, then i think it would greatly help us. So in short, 2-3 young potential players and a 1st, and they can take Gortat.

Have to agree with you, with one caveat: if Nash is willing to stay for a reduced price, keep him. He will be a great mentor but only if we find a young PG we can commit to. Id' also keep price if possible but seriously, everyone except Gortat and Morris should be available.

That said, I fear the future. I'd be willing to ride this year out as is and see what we can do witha greatly reduced number of committed contracts in summer and some money to spend. Elsewhere I posted the list fo FAs/RFAs for 2012 - some very solid second tier and role players on that list. Take our lumps with what we have, hope for a good pick - trade for another one if we can - and build that way. Doing it all with youth is a treacherous business

^100% agree with that last part John - but problem is Nash would net us the most trade assets this season - hence why he wouldn't be around next year...

Orlando has talked about acquiring Nash. I would be cool with redick and/or Anderson. Maybe a hill and Nash and Lopez for those two. As much as Nash loves playing with the suns I don't see him coming back next season. Shake hands, give a hug and move on. If Peyton manning can get cut so can Nash!
