Charlotte vs. Washington Wed. Jan 25

Post#1 » by MOrgil » Wed Jan 25, 2012 12:04 pm

I didn't see any game thread for tonight so I started it, feel free to make changes. Planning to see the game tonight, it will be interesting to see the rotations by Wittman. Praying for Blatche and Lewis to start the game on the bench...

I'd like to see something along the lines of:
Wall/Mack
Young/Crawford
Singleton/Lewis
Booker/Vesely
McGee/Blatche

with Mack getting bigger minutes if he's getting it done at all. Let Wall get a little more rest and watch a more controlled guard out there w/ his teammates. Don't mind seeing more Seraphin too if he's getting it done.

Tonight's game features bad vs worse. The question is which team is bad and which is worse.

The Wizards are averaging 88.6 points, and they're giving up 107.1 per game in their last seven following Monday's 103-83 loss at Philadelphia.

The Wizards are bad, but the Bobcats could be worse.

Charlotte (3-15) makes the first of two trips to the nation's capital this season following an awful offensive performance on Tuesday. The team made a season-low 27 field goals, shot 32.9 percent and lost its fifth straight, 111-78 to New York.

Point guard D.J. Augustin was sidelined with an inflamed right big toe, and he's expected to miss at least the next three.

The Wizards play Charlotte tonight and they play them again at Charlotte is just three days. It will be interesting to see if Kemba Walker outduels Wall. Kemba is not an NBA-caliber playmaker IMO. He and Gerald Henderson are even more inexperienced than Wall and Young.

Washington might beat the Bobcats by 20 points. I think the Wizards have been laying down on Flip.

You have to think they will come out and play better. If they don't, the players are going to look like dogs. They don't have Flip to hide behind anymore. The bandaide has been peeled off and they are exposed. While some blame has gone to the roster, Flip was sharing the blame. No longer.

So I expect the effort and focus will be there.
I expect they will be listening more.
I expect the plays will be simplified.
I expect the line up and rotation to work more like Doug Collins does. Short leash for slacking.

All that is left is better rotations. If the rotations change, that will be the key. But it always was.

Hard to imagine they don't win. After all, when this team plays motivated and the rotations are good, they can bet a team as good as OKC.

And for those who wanted to see Sam as the HC, realize he is one step closer now. If Randy gets a T, is Sam the one who would coach the rest of the game ?

The fact that players will not have Negative Flip coaching them has to be a huge Pyschological boost for them, they should be more relaxed and playing a style of basketball that suits them better.

With the Cats being on a b2b and missing several starters, there's no-way that we lose right? :-)

Wall should be playing around 32 minutes a game, primarily backed-up by Mack. Blatche and Lewis no more than 20 minutes each, I want to see Booker, Vesely, and Singleton playing majority of the minutes at the two forward positions. I wouldn't mind Roger Mason and Mo Evans getting quality minutes too, when Young and Crawford are struggling.

Charlotte on a 5 game skid of their own. Early season tank implications matchup right here! Will watch with interest to see if rotations change in a significant way. If Blatche and Lewis get the pine time they deserve. See if the Wizards come out with any renewed energy.

Have not seen Charlotte play at all this year. They look bad on paper, but are there any matchups of interest? Who backs up DJ Augustin as PG?

As I said in another post, the Wizards will likely win this game big. I think that they will come out with a lot of energy just because, as Hands said, they will not want to look like dogs after Flip got fired. However, their success will be shortlived.

who cares? this season should be about player development and figuring who's a keeper, if anyone. Blatche isn't. Neither is Lewis. Can't say for sure about others, so....more Mack, more Singleton, etc.

No offense but you'd have to be some kind of basketball idiot not to see this is the optimum lineup for the roster we have.

Dobro, I'm interested. Is there no other way of exchanging contact info without putting my email out here?
