Evan Turner Where He belongs?

By no mean am i quiting on derrick williams already however just throwing a idea out there if a deal like this would be popular in wolves land...

Derrick williams, darko for Evan Turner?

Could Evan and rubio co-exist in the backcourt with the lack of outside shooting?

Real question is derrick williams our future Small Forward? i hope he takes off some weight like love did and the sky the limit for him.

I don't see why we are giving up our starting center in a swap of this years no. 2 overall for last years no. 2 overall. Especially when we have the younger of the two players. Maybe if Turner were killing in PHI but he isn't playing well enough to merit the no. 2 pick in either of the last two drafts.

I might do derrick for turner due to our need, but I'd prefer Williams as the player.

He doesn't fit without a good outside shot, and Dwill is more valuable. I wouldn't do a straight swap for them.

I would love to have Turner in a Timberwolves jersey.

2 good shooters in the starting lineup are enough. Love and a capable shooter at SF would be completely ok even if Rubio + Turner suck at shooting from long range. It's not like it's different right now. We have Ridnour and Love in the 1st unit that shoot well.

Honestly, we should sell Derrick Williams high before his value drops dramatically. And if we can grab a good SG that way we should do it.

I'd interested in Turner, but this deal is questionable as it stands.

Turner is a solid defender, ball-handler, and passer ... he'd help our guard rotation a ton.

If this is true, then it may not be true for long. I think William's stock is going down by the game while Turner's is going up.

I think they are equal talents, and so I'd swap them to get a player that fits a position of need. I don't see how Williams helps them more than Turner though with Brand and Thad already in the mix and considering they're a number 4 team in the East and Turner is more ready right now.

If we traded for Turner, I'd want Rubio coming off the bench since Ridnour has 3 point range and can play pretty well without the ball. Just as long as Rubio gets his minutes.

I'd like to give Derrick Williams some time. Evan Turner's stock was certainly plunging last year at this time, as he adjusted to the NBA. Most teams won't trade a lottery rookie his first year, while they assess what they've got.

I agree with the general concept of figuring out whether a player's value will trend up or down, but I'm not ready to say Williams downward trend is anything more than a rookie learning curve. We all have to be careful not to compare him to our other rookie, who's been playing pro ball for 6-7 years.

I've been saying it for a while. I want O.J. In our freewheeling offense Adelman would give him the go ahead to shoot, which is exactly what he needs. Hollins is finally taking the handcuffs off and he's having a great year.

Only problem is his stock is probably higher than it's been since his rookie year.

Who cares about 3 point shooting? We need a slasher more than a shooter. Once Webster is back we have him and Love that can shoot the 3 in the s5. Add in Ridnour, Ellington, Barea and Tolliver of the bench. That's enough firepower.

Turner is 4-18 from 3 pt. Williams is 9-33 from 3 pt. Considering the low sample size, the difference is pretty much negligible. Nevertheless, I think it's much easier to improve on your shot than it is to develop areas that may be Williams pitfalls (in my mind, mainly tweeneritis) -- note that Turner playing SG out rebounds Williams playing SF/PF.

I'm not surprised people are ready to hit the panic button on Williams already, but I think it's way too soon to be considering it.

30 games into his rookie year, Love was averaging around 7 and 7, playing 22 minutes per night, was shooting 38% from the field, had a PER that hovered in the 13-15 range, and had made 1 3 pointer (on 11 attempts). People were pining for OJ Mayo and the Jonathan Watters was running rampant on the board spreading that thought (after ragging on Mayo for much of the pre-draft process). Now people are griping that the Wolves didn't give Love enough money.

Williams is 18 games into his, and didn't have the benefit of a full training camp or preseason slate.

Patience is a virtue.
