Hawks Goat of the game against San Antonio

Post#1 » by ATL Boy » Thu Jan 26, 2012 3:36 am

The first one of these I'm having to do this year and it doesn't feel good; IK there's still some time left but we're down 23 with 4 mins left, it's over and I'm in a bit of a hurry.
Also it was tempting to put the refs as an option but that's not how this works.

Corny thread because you don't have the bench on there. They were horrible as a unit all night and Larry Drew was a big cause of it. Nique finally said something that made sense. I am surprised to see Hinrich come in so soon. That's what Nique said when he checked in in the 1st quarter. Drew does not understand things like chemistry. I don't think it is a coincidence that the bench was so bad tonight. Josh Smith leaving Bonner open time after time and sagging off of the best shooter on the floor was also dumb but it was also Drew's fault as he should have switched someone else out on him so Josh could continue protecting the rim. Joe was also not good enough.

Lastly, I don't blame Zaza he is simply no starting Center. Your failure to have the bench as a unit, ASG and Sund on this list makes it a bad thread, but I will make it better.

I'll give it to our resident goon. The only time he showed toughness in the paint was on a cheap shot.

Sund and ASG got to make a move for BIG men. Ivan Johnson and Radmanovic at Center and PF? what? and Smith came up small as hell.

This is all on team construction.

Agreed but it does not need to be Al Horford the one moved.

Hawks have been playing great, but with or without Horford, the Hawks always don't do well against the Spurs.

with that said, the Hawks still do well against the Magic, Heat, and Bulls.... so no point in jumping the shark, just because of one bad game against a team that the Hawks haven't done well in the last five years.

no way is it Josh's fault about Bonner. it was just horrible coaching, I would have put Marvin on Bonner and make Josh guard a less skilled 3pt shooter, so that Josh could rome and play help defense.

Some of the blame has to be placed on Josh. You play the role your are assigned. He was assigned to guard Bonner. Thus, he should not have been sagging. I agree that the coach should have put someone else on Bonner but he didn't so Josh did not do the job he was assigned to do. I notice some of you guys can't be realistic when it comes to certain players and Josh is the main person. He is just a dumb basketball player and some get offended when you call him that. Dumb shots, poor defensive recognition last night, and no discipline, no versatility that's why he continues to do the same stuff.

I hated watching that game last night. There is no way we should have gotten blown out by san antonio. It is a lot of blame that needs to be given out. Matt boner should have never been open. Josh smith has to play better. Defense should be his calling card. Any game that he have under 10 rebound should be consider a failure. Marvin williams should be playing a lot better than what he is doing. When horford went down i thought this would be the perfect time for him to show something. He needs to step his game up or be arrest for impersonating a basketball player. Maybe he needs to come off the bench. Thats the role he played in college. Larry drew need to put joe johnson in better scoring position. Joe has mutiple ways of scoring and we need utilize that more. Joe needs to get to the foul line more. And rick sund the hawks does not have the talent on there roster to make up for al horford. We need to make a move or add a big man. I like ivan and jason but only for like 10 to 12 minutes a game. We cannot count on them every night. The hawks will never get the respect they deserve getting blown out like that
