Do you guys believe he deserves some playing time? Against Atlanta he was too strong against Pachulia. He has a lot of qualities and had a good seazon in Europe while the lock out was on. The greatest advantage of playing him is that the opposition center has to push another big body (the other is KLove). I think he can be a monster in the paint area. They should stop running pick and rolls through him. Most of the times it is an offensive foul. He should also have some drills and workouts with Antony Toliver. Toliver is a smart player that masters in charges. Pekovic could learn how to avoid making those mistakes by a guy on the very same team.

Any thoughts?

I like Pek, his only problem seems to be getting 0 respect from the reffs and partly having trouble with the faster game (leading to being a magnet for fouls) I think he could get some buckets but don't see him as a real defensive player.

I don't know what the hell the coaches see at him, but Adelman nor Rambis have given him minutes and confidence.

The Pek's main problem are the fouls due his slowness, otherwise he could be starter. I think he can be better scorer than Darko. I bet for give him more minutes.

Perhaps Pekovic must to lose some pounds as Love did. :dontknow:

I like Pek but I never really see much out of him outside of low post scoring. He's a turnover and fouling machine and he's not a good defender or rebounder. I could live with those last 2 issues if he could fix the fouls and the turnovers. If he has that many flaws in his game he probably won't see more than 10-15 minutes a night.

I have no issue with 10 minutes if they are consistent ... else it's pretty unrealistic to expect improvement.

He is slower in Minny that in Europe, but perhaps contribute more than Darko.

He needs to get some minutes. I mean watching Randolph and Darko is terrible at times this season. You can't tell me that Pek couldn't get a few minutes in a lot of games.

I think he can be a useful role player. He should be seeing 15 minutes per night considering how weak we are at the C spot. He is a much better scorer than Darko, and although he isn't a great defensive player, he isn't a liability either. His rebounding isn't terrible.
If he manages to cut those stupid fouls, he will contribute. I say give him another 15 minutes tonight and see what happens.

In his limited time this year he's turning the ball over on 42% of his plays. I'm sure that's the reason he doesn't play. He's got to get that under control.

Well again in order to sustain offensive fouls he should do two things:

Do not run pick and rolls with Pek. He just cant play the pick and roll. Just play post up game. Its just so efficient and its just so hard to push him off. The opposition centers shoulders are going through a lot of pain pushing such a guy.

Work out with Toliver. He can teach him how to avoid offensive fouls. He is one of the best in the NBA.

P.S. Some times the referees are like they have been scouting players and give calls easily. Its like they whistle in a pattern. I mean its like "Pekovic screen, man down, blow the whistle..."

I think we could be more creative with our big men rotations. I wouldn't mind seeing AR- Pek. or Darko playing PF, Love playing Center different stuff like that.

Gotta give the big guy some love. I'm really starting to like having him out there. It's nice to have a big physical guy on the court who can move people around. And he's not a liability at the free throw line.

I still want to figure out if every time Pekovic is whistled for something if Adelman is angry at Pekovic or the call being made. Since he's been getting more playing time I'd guess the latter, but I'm not sure.

He is such an underrated player. In the post he is one of the strongest guys around.. He can literally bully people.. He is good for 20-25 minutes, but he has to be utilized properly.. No more pick and rolls.. Just let him get into position and give him the ball in the post. He gives another dimension to this team, that is so perimeter oriented. He will make some fouls still cos he has to adapt to the nba game..but can contribute in a big way

PF/C is so interchangeable in today's league that I wouldn't really consider that creative (Specifically Darko at PF). Offensively it changes nothing and defensively it's not so rigid anyway. Matchups change with who is on the floor.

At this point, the thought of AR and Pek playing together seems like a liability. Both can be pretty bone-headed.

Love gets time at C when we play small, which happens quite often.

Yeah I could see that. They have done it a little bit. The only example off the top of my head is that Darko defended Blake and Love was on Jordan in the Clipper game. That was fairly successful.

Digging into the Turnover situation:
Pek has played in 9 games for a total of 119 minutes with 16 turnovers in that time. This is one turnover every 7.4 minutes of playing time which is the highest percentage on the team.

Of the 16 turnovers, they break down as follows:
6 Offensive Fouls
3 Traveling
3 Three Second Calls
3 Lost Balls or Stolen Balls
1 Bad Pass

I can remember one traveling call and 2 or 3 of the offensive foul calls that I didn't agree with, but regardless this is still turning it over at too high of a rate.

He is looking better and more comfortable on the court. I enjoy watching him play and what he brings to the team. Hopefully, the turnovers will start to decrease so we can see more of him.
