man, i'm really getting impressed with Teague, even to a point where i don't care about Deron or CP3 anymore.
Teague is not as good as Deron or CP3, but i think right now he is already a legit, strong NBA starter, and by next year or two years from now could get a legit star, 18ppg to 20ppg, 5apg, and top 5 in steals.
Teague is able to penetrate into the paint with ease. he floater is working. he seems to be able to draw fouls well, better than Joe. and his defense seems legit. his steals seem to come from his skills and instinct and not just gambles like Iverson. he is able to create turnovers, but at the same time, not give up position to the offensive player.
if the Hawks do make a move in the off season, i think they should just look at Dwight, Lopez, Asik, JaVale, or Kaman and not worry about the PG position.
Teague just needs to work on his confidence, but that is okay at this point, cause he is still so young.
Because of Teague, Hawks shouldn't worry about Deron or CP3

Teague is doing fine. I have always been focused more on a Center, and bigs that finish than some big name PG. Look at what Kyle Lowry has turned into and you know right then that we have no idea what Teague can max out to be. One thing we do know is that our bigs are not good enough as a unit. To be specific, our frontline is not good enough. Even when it is Marvin, Josh, and Al it is not good enough, and it definitely is not good enough when it is Marvin, Josh, and Zaza.

Like Blog, a big man needs to be the priority. Chris Paul already committed to the Clippers for one more season (probably signs long-term) and Deron Williams is probably going to Dallas or stays with New Jersey. I think New Jersey will eventually acquire Dwight Howard.
Teague looks good and I feel confident about him as our 1 for many years.

A shooting big man.
If we think about it who's the big man replacing? Marvin Williams. Smith can defend the 3 and help defense is great from that position but on offense it wont work.
We need to be scouting shooting bigs with solid defense. Rasheed types. Jon Leuer types. Ryan Anderson if he can post up?
Getting Dwight, Al, and Josh wont work if no one can shoot. Eventually Smith will have to shoot there.
Thats probably another reason why Dwight doesnt want to come here.

Although they are unlikely to be truly ready in the window (Joe/Josh window) it seems like the draft is the answer. I say this because Kosta Koufas just got 3M a year to resign with Denver. Think about that for a second. A young 7 footer playing 11 mpg (when he plays) has a 3M price tag in this market. The Hawks are unlikely to land a center in free agency and if they trade for one it will likely be someone who was criminally overpaid by someone and they now have remorse. Can you turn that person around? Maybe. Will it cost a key player in trade? Unfortunately unless they take Marvin.
All this leads me to believe we need to make peace with the idea of Festus Ezeli or Tyler Zeller or Mason Plumlee coming in to provide length and learning on the job. If you add a long rookie next year to a lineup of Teague/Joe/Josh/Al it could work because of Al being at PF to help inside and Josh's likely length advantage over the opposing SF. Will the coach be willing to trust a rookie though?

Did you just say that Dwight, Al, and Josh on the same team wouldn't work??!?!?! No comment on that, but Al can hit the jumper, just 2 years ago he had the best mid range shooting percentage in the league; but even if none of the 3 could shoot there would be no shame in getting points in the paint.

I 100% agree with you, I think the draft is the answer; and I'd like for us to draft Ezeli, I really like what I'm seeing from this young kid, but I doubt Drew would ever put him in. He didn't give Jordan Crawford a chance, well he did vs Dallas when it seemed hopeless when we were getting blown out, then Jordan got us back in it but Drew refused to give him another chance after that game; he also didn't give Teague a chance until he had to when Hinrich went down vs Orlando. LD is a great assistant coach but to me he isn't the right head coach for this team, he just refuses to develop young players.

The draft is not the answer for a vet team. Especially not at the position we will be drafting. Even if we trade Kirk for one of the Lakers 2 picks and combine those picks we probably wan't be able to get into the late lottery. Also, Sund has a bad track record of picking big men in the draft. He reportedly wanted Daniel Orton that year he sold away our pick. Daniel Orton is already most likely on his way out the league. I do agree that all the big men are overpaid. DeAndre Jordan averages 6pts and 6 reb a game for his career and get $10 million plus a year. Javal McGee, Brook Lopez, and Hibbert will get super paid this summer and 2 of them play on losing teams. I do agree that that is the route we will be taking though. I guess we should just hope of getting someone that can be somewhere between Teague and Josh since we got both of them with mid to late 1st round picks. We actually could have selected Marshon Brooks last draft if we had not given our pick away. Jordan, Bibby, and Mo was too much for Hinrich and some throw away big, without even adding that pick. I don't trust this organization with draft picks look at all the one's they have messed up within the last 10 years or so.
