Championship caliber??? Is this a joke I'm missing?
Wall and McGee championship level? I like both of them, but let's be serious. Unless McGee makes a 1999 Jermaine O'Neal like jump what we see today is what we get. And that's not going to happen. Kwame had a 31/19 game for us and a few 25/10 games. It was because we were a horrible team.
This team has talent, but I don't see a John Stockton/Hakeem Olajuwon/Ewing/Isiah Thomas out of either of them.
I do think we can become a playoff team with an Anthony Davis, but McGee will never be a consistent let alone playoff force. He's simply not an intelligent player.
Wall I'm honestly a bit disappointed this year.....but with the right players around him I could see him becoming a Jason Kidd type. Shooting simply isn't his skill.

Wall will be a far better superior scorer. I'm talking 25ppg+ (if he wants to score).

On a much better team with better shooters and defensive rebounders, the focus would be more on what he does bring, and they would have the luxury of bringing him along and fitting him in.
I think part of the problem was that Singleton was too good of a "value" pick to pass up. In retrospect Marshon Brooks probably would have been a better pick, even if he would have seemed like a big reach.
As currently constructed the Wizards look like they have Wall, McGee and a bunch of guys who would look a lot better on a good team. Crawford and Blatche are about the only "good stat, bad team" players. And if you look at the advanced stats, they are only "above average" in their willingness to shoot.
Marshon Brooks a REACH at pick 18?
