Re: Senior Bowl week
ULaLa's QB is named Blaine Gauthier. He did very well in their bowl game. Definitely a program with some upside in the Sun Belt.
While I'm here, is there ever any commenting/criticism from other coaches regarding how the Vikings and Redskins conduct Senior Bowl practice?

What is the likely cost to move up for these teams?
Their 1st and 2nd this year, plus something next year, probably a 2 for the Browns and a 1 for the Skins and Seattle. The Rams don't want to fall out of getting a top shelf player in this draft and that cutoff line is right around where Washington is picking.

Gauthier, thanks for that. He's got a real swagger to him, one to watch going forward. He was great in their bowl game. I caught their game against Troy and he was very good in that one too.
Everyone loves how Shanahan is running the South, lots of mano a mano combat and the pace is great. Haven't really heard much about the Vikings other than they go to special teams too early in practice.
Practice got moved indoors to the convention center, so I came back to the hotel to do a mock draft. Tornado warning, really windy and gnarly rain right now. Gonna try to go to the South indoor practice later but I find the concept of practicing on a cement floor pretty pointless.

A friend of mine (Lionel Smith of Texas A&M) was invited to a Senior Bowl in Arkansas. Just showing him some love! haha.

Re: Senior Bowl week
Hey Jeff, what's up with Peyton's deal? The infamous 28 million dollar option is being ridden to death, but what of the 7.4 million dollar salary that's due? Considering Luckkkkkkkkk will get 5.5, there's no way that team can survive with 41 million dollars invested in the QB position, right?? Are the Colts on the hook for that 7.4 regardless, or do they slip that burden too??
It seems to be all but assumed that Peyton will not be playing for the Colts next year. Is that an accurate assumption?

Beyond that the QBs are a hot mess and it's fairly impossible to accurately slot them at this point. I can see Foles as a late 1st. I think a lot will depend on how free agency plays out with guys like Flynn, Alex Smith, etc. And Peyton Manning too.
how many qbs do you think will go in round one? just the top two and then a big drought?
and i'm jumping on the nortman bandwagon big time- if only al davis was still here- he'd have the guts to take him in the first round

Luck and RG3 are top 3, Tannehill is not falling past wherever WAS picks. Beyond that, none deserve to be even in the 2nd round but that doesn't mean Foles or Cousins won't sneak into the late 1st.
I see Nortman going in the compensatory picks at the end of the 4th. The Lions and Cardinals were both extremely interested in him.

Luck, RG3, and Tannehill all going before #7 would be great news for Jaguars.

Re: Senior Bowl week
Pead was great all week but it seems a lot of draftniks sort of ignored him. He was EASILY the best RB there and he obviously has return skills too. Happy for him, he's a nice guy that has worked very hard.

Somewhere in the 55-75 range, late 2nd/mid 3rd.

Would he be a good fit with the 49ers?

Re: Senior Bowl week
He's very redundant with Josh Morgan but considering Morgan's injury issues, Jones makes sense. Same type of player.

Anyone who can catch a football would be a good fit with the 49ers at this point.
