Spot Up Shooter

Post#1 » by dukeknicksirish » Fri Jan 27, 2012 6:11 pm

With a playmaker like Rubio on the floor, and with a lineup including JJ Barea(who is also small), would you guys consider trading for a guy like Jimmer to spot up?

Would you do:

Jimmer
for
Beasly and Tolliver

5.Darko/Pekovic
4.Love/Williams
3.Wesley/Randolph
2.Jimmer/JJ
1.Rubio/Ridinour

Thoughts?

HELL no to Jimmer. (though it'd be fun to see Beasley in that lineup of other ballhogs)

PA suggested Beasley for Redick on his show today. That seems much more doable.

I couldn't have less interest in Jimmer. I think he has a place in the NBA, but it's probably a similar role to what Barea is already providing. I would guess than any move the Wolves made would revolve around a longer-term solutation at SG that could play 35+ minutes a night and that's not where Jimmer is or may ever be. I think Jimmer tends to be most effective with the ball in his hands and that's clearly not how this offense will work.

Agreed. Jimmer has been absolutely terrible this year. Redick would be fine. The only things Jimmer was supposed to be able to do was shoot and he hasn't even done that.

a %36 shooter, who can't play defense? Why would we want him?
Wacky trade idea, thanks for the chuckle.

Redick is a much better fit, and idea :)
