Nemesis,

I think it would be a great pickup for Tampa Bay.

I'm on the fence. I've watched Rutgers games here and there and Greg runs a pretty good team. Reportedly the Bucs called Bill Belichek about Greg, and Bill spoke highly of him and recommended him. I don't know enough about Greg. When the Kelly rumors were flying around, I was kind of glad. Chip is one of 3 college HC's I'd personally hire for an NFL team, the others being Bob Stoops, and one of Les Miles/Nick Saban.

We shall see.

It certainly beats Mike Sherman or Brad Childress.

Schiano was 56-28 at Rutgers after his slow start there.

But hell, who knows?

Agreed. His most important hire will be OC. Does he bring in a college OC or NFL OC? Some options,

What about Greg Knapp ? QB coach for Texans. Has been OC for Seahawks, Raiders, Falcons and 49ers.

Or Mike Shula ? Current Panthers QB coach, Bucs OC in '96-'99, Dolphins QB coach in '00-'02, Jaguars QB coach in '07-'10.

Or Saints QB coach Joe Lombardi ? Been with Saints since Payton took over. Worked 1 yr for Falcons prior to that.

Hue Jackson

Brad Childress

Todd Haley

There are rumors already on twitter of Butch Davis as DC.

I really do like the signing I think that he will be more of a disciplinarian than Raheem. Just thank God that it was not Childress or Sherman.

Why didn't the Bucs hire Denzel Washington? He was pretty good in Remember The Titans.

Cross Brad Childress off the possible OC list, was hired by the Browns as OC today.

Obviously late on this, but why would the Bucs hire Schiano? He did next to nothing at Rutgers (granted, they were less than nothing before he arrived) and if you're dipping into the college ranks, couldn't you get someone like Chip Kelly? They whiff on him and drop to the Rutgers HC? What would've been next HS?

The Bucs offered Chip Kelly $6 mill per season, he turned it down.

If the Bucs could have hired Vince Lombardi, it still wouldn't matter until the team starts spending a few dollars.

I have mixed feelings about Schiano, but considering who else they were considering.....

My preference was Marty Schottenheimer....who would have been a great fit as a teacher that would have built and sustained a foundation in a few years with a young team that lacks fundamentals, players, energy and discipline
