After tonight I am all for blowing this thing up.

Trade #1: Howard/Hedo for B Lopez/Marshon/Humph/Okur/NJ 2012/HOU 2012/NJ 2012 2nd. Humph and Okur expire.

Trade #2: JRich for Bledsoe/Cook. (ORL & LAC). Cook expires

Trade #3: BBD/Duhon for Flynn/J Hill. (ORL & HOU). Both have team options. Hill's was declined.

Trade #4: QRich/Orton for R Lopez. (ORL & PHX).

Trade#5: Nelson/Harper/Liggins/NJ 2012 2nd rnd for Augustine/Najera/DJ White. (ORL & CHA). Najera and White expire. Augustine is a RFA, resign or let him walk.

Resign B Lopez for 4 years/$40 mill
Resign Ryno for 4 years/$30 mill
Resign R Lopez for 3 years/$9 mill
Sign Wilson Chandler 1 year/$8 mill
(We have to send 85% of cap)

2013 Lineup:

Flynn/Bledsoe
Marshon/JJ
Chandler/Wafer
Anderson/Clark
B Lopez/R Lopez

plus 3 1st rnd draft picks

Salaries by position for corresponding player:

PG: $4.3 mill/ $1.7 mill
SG: $1.2 mill/ $6 mill
SF: $8 mill/ $1.1 mill
PF: $7.5 mill/ $1.3 mill
C: $10 mill/ $3 mill

Total Salary: $44.1 million BEFORE draft picks are signed. Reserve say $6 million for rookies.
New Total Salary: $50.1 million = 86% of salary cap spent.

Chandler expires, Flynn RFA. $26 million at least to spend in summer of 2013 on FAs if Chandler and Flynn walk and JJ is not resigned.

I love how everybody wants to do this horrendous rebuild scenario...it won't work, mark my words. Also, for the record, we can count Gil's $20mil amnestied salary towards the 85% salary cap min, so if we really wanted, we could just totally clear the books and only have like $30 mil on the books (although we def won't do that with this ownership).

It's one thing to say you aren't willing to now, it's another to say that at the deadline if you are the second best team in the building. If they can get back a decent PF in the process to replace Pau, they would be morons not to.

That may very well be true, but if that is the case i can only see it in the following scneario

http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=7k4kf5d[/quote]

LOL. The Lakers improve TREMENDOUSLY with that move. Dwight (with scorer) >> Bynum, Scola is pretty close to Pau and Hedo >> Metta. The Lakers don't have to get THAT much back for them to do it.

^^^ I didn't realize Gil's $20 mill applied to the 85%. Horrendous, maybe to you. But my scenario rids us of ALL bad contracts. Since Gil's money applies...don't sign Chandler at all and trade JJ for more draft picks. And rebuild around Marshon, Ryno, B Lopez, draft picks, and maybe Bledsoe becomes something. And still have a MASSIVE amount of cap space for 2013.

I think if you put McGee back then, he would get those blocks just as easily as Russell did. Russell's athleticism was well ahead of the players of his time, and that's about it.

Frank Isola @FisolaNYDN
Dwight Howard questions his teammates' desire. Great. Now, how is his "desire" when it comes to improving as a free throw shooter?

Frank Isola @FisolaNYDN
Plus, why would Dwight care about how his teammates play since he's made it clear he wants to be far away from them and Orlando. Some leader

Preach!

I don't get it! Why is the media acting like he don't care about this team? If that's the case he would not have called out his teammates @ halftime to play better or better yet he could be faking an injury. Let's be real here without Howard we would be really awful. Could Howard be a better leader yes, and we do need better players/management to help him out.

Blake + Jordan + whatever for Dwight + our garbage. If they don't budge, throw in Ryno.

Clippers will have to do it.

I wonder if they would consider it?

Blake is a star for sure, but Dwight has even bigger star power.

^didn't Clipper fans a week or so ago on RealGM say they would trade Blake and Jordan for Dwight?... I know I would (if my team had a tremendous PG)... they aren't stupid... a dominant PG/C duo > everything else

Yeah, I mean if I recall, aren't their main problems defense and rebounding?

Dwight fixes all of that by himself, let alone if you add in Anderson as well. They also have a great leader already in Chris Paul (and an even better one in Billups, if he is into it).

Magic need to hop on that.

At this point I'd rather have the 8.5apg Calderon over Nelson ..

And I don't think i'm the only one on this board who'd take Calderon over Nelson ..

Ideally the Magic would keep Ryno and try to move him to another team for a solid wing. What would be ideal is Dwight + J-Rich for Blake + Jordan as the Clipps don't have a single SG on their roster and seeing how well J-Rich played in Phoenix with Nash, they'd hope that he would replicate some of that success with CP3.

Edit: forgot about Hedouche. Gotta get rid of him too.

So it would be something like:

Dwight
Hedo
J-Rich

for

Blake
Jordan
Foye
Gomes

trade checker isn't working for me so I can't see if the numbers work

unfortunately, that is true. you are not the only one.

it is best to hear what canadians think of him before making a stat-based decision. i am not saying you do, but 90% do.

you essentially just handed clippers a three-peat. but who cares what happens when magic are rebuilding.

We have to at least get Bledsoe in that deal as well... if not him, then Mo Williams, who's been tearing it up as of late.

But Jordan/Blake/draft picks or Jordan/Blake/Bledsoe for Dwight straight up would work

See if we can move Jameer or Hedo... can't move both... preferably move Hedo, since Nelson will opt out this summer

It really is the only trade that would make me happy... minus a Dwight/Lebron, Dwight/Rose or Dwight/Durant swap which would never happen.
