Arenas is fine, he was just playing under SVG last year so he looked terrible.

I don't know if i believe this guy, it just sounds like he's trying to help Arenas find a team. Saying how Arenas lost 20 pounds and was hanging out over the summer and lockout with Howard. Then later saying while he played in ORl "His teammates enjoyed his company, especially Dwight Howard." Seems like this guy is Gilberts mouth piece trying to get the Lakers attention, basically saying if you sign me then Howard would really wanna come to L.A at the deadline.

have you watched the lakers? theres no offense for him to adjust to or mess with. really nothing could be worse than what we have right now, at least thats how i feel.

When you have Kobe Bryant on your team, you can take that risk and best believe that bull that arenas is used to stays out the door before he enters...

I doubt Arenas can bring any drama that Kobe, Fisher, and the Lakers haven't already dealt with.

Pot calling the kettle black if you ask me since the Knicks are pinning their hopes on Baron Davis' return whe he looked more finished than Arenas last year.

You know the Lakers are desperate when they look to sign Gilbert Arenas.

When you have a 37 year old Fisher,Blake(who's been out for awhile now) and two 2nd round rookies in the backcourt,I'd say yes,we're desperate

I'm in,bring in Arenas

We are by far the worst of any contenders @ PG.. Maybe the worst overall in the NBA.. Yeah Arenas might not be able to give us much more than Fish, but for the prorated minimum it's worth taking a chance on finding his game.. I think Arenas can still give you 14-17 & 5 in the right situation.. He won't start coming right in either, & if anyone hasn't noticed the Lakers bench lost 30 ppg in LO & Shannon.. Arenas will have the green light to jack up shots & lead the 2nd unit.. It could be a step in the right direction, but the worst case is sending him packing & losing less than Buss does in a hand of blackjack.. He WON'T become a locker room problem in LA with guys like Kobe & Fish around

Its not desperation when they know theyre not even competing for a title. They're just trying to fill in they're weakest position.

Lakers Eyeing Gilbert Arenas

Post#35 » by Jedi » Sat Jan 28, 2012 4:48 pm

Good. Thing is this guy is better than a Mike Bibby and at least at the level of a Chalmers, maybe less productive due to his inactivity.

Point is, the guy is talented and even though he hasn't been too impressive recently, he is still worth a chance. Specially considering the circumstances and situations he's been playing around recently.

Oh please sign him... as a Magic fan... sign him... give him the opportunity to put up 20/5/4 again in a Lakers' uniform... so RDV can look at Otis and realize that he's still paying Arenas a ridiculous amount of money to help another team out lol... and then he can fire Otis

39% from deep? Arenas? Not even in his prime he'd shoot that well. Let me check. Yeah, he was shooting 32%. The 39% is actually... his FG%. :D

Arenas est finito.

Exactly. People don't know just how bad we've had it at point guard for the last 15 years. It is depressing. I know it's difficult for most people to understand, but signing Arenas would be the biggest name the Lakers have had at PG since Gary Payton ('03) and Nick Van Exel ('95?). Every other team in the NBA has had the luxury of having at least an average point guard. The Lakers haven't had that in over a decade.

So pardon us for being excited over possibly adding a player that might turn out to be an average PG if we're lucky. It's low risk for the Lakers.
