Time to get back to purple
Sarver started this whole orange planet nonsense. Think because he is a red head and wanted to make his mark on the team. Basically ridding himself of everything colangelo. Suns have sways been known as the purple team.
So now his realistate business is dead and he is losing money. Now the suns are dead and will be losing money. Seats are empty. Hopefully he will be forced to sell the team. The value of the suns has fallen according to Forbes. I think it's fallen below the number he bought the team for.
Colangelo was a great basketball mind. I didn't realize it till he left. This team has come full circle now. The suns won 29 games the year prior to Steve. Sarver was shooting for Kobe at that time but settled on Nash. He lucked out that time. Things fell into place quick. If you remember when they got Nash, they wanted to achieve 45 wins. From the beginning he didn't know what he was doing. Luckily for the suns that turned into 62 wins.
The Sarver years have been exciting (not due to him) but also they have been my worst years of watching suns basketball.
For this I ask we get back to purple. Let's get back to our roots! The suns colors are then colors of an Arizona sun rise not the color of the sun!
Do you think we will be lucky again or are we going to be in a long haul misery. God knows we deserve one number one pick! Course even if we had the odds to get the number one pick... Stern wouldn't let it happen. (thats why they don't actually show the lottery process on tv, just the end result).
Last thing please please please go away mr orange. Go play dungeons and dragons with your nerdy friends!

I agree with you with the whole purple thing. Change the jerseys, change the court, change the arena, change it all when Nash leaves to start a new team. Once I heard the team was gonna bring out "Planet Orange," I almost fainted. The dumbest move ever. It's probably why our crowd is the worst in the league.. "Planet Orange" ....yeah, dumb.
Lay off Mr. ORNG. He's a cool dude. Bet if you seen him in person, you'll introduce yourself and take a picture with him.

As long as we don't ever ever ever change our logo in the middle of the court. It's the best in the league. Change everything else

Bet if I see mr orange I chuckle and walk the other way. You think I would waste my time with a fan who paints himself orange and waves around huge face pictures of the suns! I'm a drink beer watch sports and relax guy. Of course talk some trash to my friends. I am a huge suns fan just don't flaunt it tebow style ie mrs orange. Besides I was watching this team long before he got out of elementary school!
Besides the fact I don't work in a grocery store and don't have a lot of time to do that stuff. To busy protecting mr oranges right to dress up like an orange hamster!
Bring back purple!!!

Dude, no. Mr. ORNG is one of the best fans the Suns have. He is dedicated through whatever stint we go through. Is he a bit outrageous with his choice in clothing? Sure! That's not a bad thing! He just likes showing his pride that way. If he came up to me on the street, I'd have a conversation with him, for sure.

Re: Time to get back to purple
Hey! Interesting points with regards to what I feel is the root of this post and that is the fans and energy. I agree that the Mad House on McDowell is when the Phoenix Suns fan base was at its prime. I am not too set on Robert Sarver being the lead on the "Planet Orange" theme. That is a marketing decision that I am sure was not his doing. The colors are purple and orange and that was them working in orange. The organization tied a fan media outlet into the theme with Planetorange.net (which has now been removed) and there will be a new website that will launch within weeks that will bring multiple social media channels together for the fans.
As for the Suns value, you are correct. Robert and his partners purchased the franchise at around $410 million and they are worth $395 million currently and dropped 4% since last year. Since the deep playoff run in the past, season tickets have declined each season and that is still the case now. There are major concerns that Robert and the front office have with regards to the direction of the organization.
I have been attending games here in Phoenix since I moved here in 1993 and I did not just arrive on the scene. I have been there through the good, the bad and what is looking like the ugly times. My passion for the Suns is just that. I care about the community, the players, the organization and other fans of basketball and the Phoenix Suns in particular. I will always be there and my goal with Mr.ORNG is to get us, as the Sixthman, to truly make a difference for our players. To be a Portland or OKC where other teams have difficulty playing at USAC and our guys feed off of that.
Going into this season, we were right in the middle of the NBA for attendance and I would suspect that is going to be worse after this season. We also face a point in our franchise where there is a gap in the "old school" fans and the "new school." The many original season ticket holders are passionate and care about the team, but are not as into the game in terms of making an impact on the atmosphere and the "newer" fans, that will be around for the next 40-60 years are trying to bring this team and arena to life. That is it. That simple.
Regardless of whether Robert sells the team or not, we have guys out on the court that play for us night in and night out and that is who I am there to support. There will be times that we have owners, presidents, general managers and coaches that may not be the best fit, but regardless of all of that, we still have guys out on that court representing the Phoenix Suns and that is what we need to support.

Re: Time to get back to purple
Orange is suitable color for the team, think about it. The sun is yellowish looking from earth but orange from space.
Purple and orange is also a unique combo.
Purple/indigo/violet are also used by the lakers, kings and raptors of old.
Orange was unique for suns until Bobcats and thunder changes their jersey and logos.
And regarding Colangelo.
He was good... But there's only one Colangelo and he isn't immortal so him not being with the suns anymore is just part of life and process.

Re: Time to get back to purple
In regard to the last post. The original colors for the suns came from the colors that came from an Arizona sunset/ sunrise NOT the color of the sun.
Is it irritating that they (Sarver) did his own thing and made it the color of the sun! Hell yea
I just want us to get back to our roots. Unfortunately don't think it's gonna happen as long as Sarver owns the team!

Actually, the sun looks white in space. The real TRUE color of the sun, however, is green. Just imagine us in green uniforms.

That was an interesting end to the thread...Mr ORNG even chimed in. A thread about purple & orange to a team that's playing black & blue. Like Biggie used to say "Bruised up! on the pistol wippin"!

Re: Time to get back to purple
The orange jersey was introduced a year prior to Sarver purchasing the team. He had nothing to do with it. Besides 3rd jerseys are a part of the NBA now and I dont see any reason why the orange has to go, its been one of our colors since the beginning and makes sense for the alt uniform.
I do however think it is time for a fresh look. Maybe ditch the grey if anything.

I respect what mr orange does that is the essence of what sports fandom is supposed to be about.
What i'm dying to know is how he can afford those nice seats and attend every home game (and even some on the road-now thats a true fan) while working at Target!
