The Lions had a contingent of coaches and scouts in Mobile, Ala., for Senior Bowl practices this week scouting potential draft picks. Here are five players who'll take part in Saturday's game who could be future Lions:

• CB Janoris Jenkins, North Alabama: Even before Nebraska's Alfonzo Dennard pulled out of the game with a hip flexor, Jenkins was easily the top cornerback in Mobile. He had a good week of practice according to reports, but talent has never been an issue for the former Florida standout. He has two marijuana charges and at least one other arrest. Interviews and background checks will ultimately determine whether he goes in the first round.

• OT Mike Adams, Ohio State: Adams missed half of last season because he was suspended for selling his Big Ten championship ring to a Columbus tattoo parlor. At 6-feet-7 and 323 pounds, he looks the part of a future left tackle and might have firmed up a spot in the first round with his play this week.

• LB Zach Brown, North Carolina: The Lions covet speed in their linebackers and the 6-1, 236-pound Brown has plenty to burn. He joins Jenkins on the South team and will have his hands full with maybe the game's best back, Boise State's Doug Martin. ESPN's Mel Kiper projected Brown to the Lions in his first mock draft.

• S Markelle Martin, Oklahoma State: He won't go in the first round, but Martin is one of the top safety prospects available, and the Lions have a need at the position. Louis Delmas has been beat up most of the last two years, Amari Spievey is still learning the position, and Martin could make for an intriguing Day 2 pick.

• DE Jack Crawford, Penn State: The Lions love their pass rushers, and Crawford is the high-motor, high-upside type who could interest them in the middle rounds. He was born in London and didn't play football until late in high school. But he's fast around the edge and can get to the quarterback.

Zach Brown is intriguing.

Sachs brown or Jenkins would be awesome picks for the lions...it was so nice being able to watch them on the playoffs.

I really liked what I saw from Brown all week in Mobile. Moves great, covers well, pursues and tackles with good angles. He didn't do well in catching the ball in those drills and didn't seem like much of a blitzer but I can live with that. Has the potential to be as good as Lance Briggs.

Jenkins is very good in man coverage, excellent athletic attributes. He was very forthright about his off-field issues too. He carries himself with a swagger that I think would play well on the Lions. Dennard wasn't very impressive before getting hurt, FWIW; he's going to get flagged for illegal contact A LOT, fell down in coverage twice over his own feet.

I would like Markelle Martin in the 3rd and that's right about the range he'll go (75-90). At OSU he made a lot of big plays in key situations, but he also tended to get too shallow in coverage and he's not a burner to make it up.

Mike Adams will be gone before the Lions pick in the 1st. Pretty impressive right tackle, needs some work if someone wants to make him a left tackle though.

Jack Crawford didn't do much for me. Pretty easily stopped in 1-on-1 drills, not a natural pass rusher. He did make a couple of nice plays in 11-on-11 practices, sniffed out a screen once and ducked inside a TE chip block to push the run way outside on another. DL is the last thing the Lions should think about drafting but if he's still around in the 6th--which is about 50/50--they could do worse. He looks exactly like Charlie Villanueva, only thicker.
