Better more current forum system

Post#1 » by Storm Surge » Wed Jan 25, 2012 1:12 am

This forum is good...if you are in 2005. It's 2012 now and the internet has changed. You gotta either get new forum software or mod this one currently in order to bring us features that are up with the times.

Look at this forum where I post sometimes
http://www.kanyetothe.com/forum/

There is a bunch of stuff that makes that forum better.

Look at the "latest posts" thing on the right, it updates automatically in real-time. We need something like that on here, at least for the general (ie non specific team forums)

Speaking of automatic updating, if you are reading a thread and someone has posted, you will get a little box on the bottom that says (xx new replies), if you click on it, it will load all the new replies that has been made.

Also, you get notifications/alerts. When somebody quotes your post, you get a notifcation, if you click on it, it will take you directly to that post. This really makes it easy to see when somebody is talking directly to you, and you can have conversations much easier.

Oh and also, they don't lock threads when it gets too big lol, there are a bunch on there that have thousands of posts but are still running.

Come on realGM step yo game up! This isn't some unknown forum this is REALGM this current set up is downright embarrassing.

I'll take these suggestions under advisement for when we next do board upgrades.

Thank you for the suggestions.
