Just curious what it'd take to get Rubio to the Jazz?
Just want to hear your opinions. If you are of the opinion that the Jazz could offer every asset they have and you'd still turn it down, that's fine. I don't mind hearing any opinion you may have.
I was really impressed with Rubio when he played the Jazz and I would put a very strong offer on the table to get him if he was available.
So, is there anything that'd entice you? What's the least offer you'd take, assuming any offer at all?

"Thibs called back and wanted more picks," said Jorge Sedano. "And Pat Riley, literally, I was told, called him a mother-bleeper and hung up the phone."

He's probably more untouchable than Love at this point, which is crazy. We would have to get a bonafide star/superstar, hopefully at the PG position, plus more value in the form of a first round pick.
The state is crazy about him. Target Center is selling a lot of tix mid January, which is very uncommon. I don't think there are many plausible trades for this guy as of now.

You would have an easier time prying Love out of our hands. Right now the kid is pretty much untouchable.

Yuop. Crazy how many people go to see games. It's pretty novel for us up here in the tundra.

I'd say definitely.

Favors, Burks, Kanter, and Hayward, and that's still probably not close.

Ok, just for fun, name the players in the league you'd trade Rubio for 1 for 1. Current contracts.
We'll assume you don't need to match salaries to make the trade.

Favors/Kanter/Evans/Hayward.
Take anyone else but those 4.

Rose, Wade, Durant, James
That pretty much covers it, and I'm not even sure about Rose.

Re: Just curious what it'd take to get Rubio to the Jazz?
I wouldn't trade Rubio for the entire Jazz roster. The difference Rubio makes on the court, in marketing, and in ticket sales is that huge.
Jazz have a nice team, they're looking good this year, still wouldn't give up Rubio for that. He is untouchable.

It would take player that averages 73 pts, 37 rebounds, 21 assists, 19 steals, and 14 blocks per game. And who is only 23 years old or less.

Re: Just curious what it'd take to get Rubio to the Jazz?
The only player in the league I would consider trading him for is Rose. Wade and Lebron would leave asap so it wouldn't be worth it.
This reminds me.. The other day I saw on the GSW board that some of them would rather have Ellis/Curry/Lee over Rubio/Williams/Love. I'd rather have just Rubio than their entire trio.

Basically, in this photo Rubio would be wearing the hat and Love would be pointing the gun: (the other dudes don't need to be there, we only have 2 untouchables, with Rubio being more untouchable than Love)

This is actually a great question.
Dwight is leaving at the end of the season.
LeBron is leaving in 2.5 years when his player option comes up.
That leaves us with:
- Durant (long enough contract to turn the current Wolves team into a contender in a few years)
- Rose (similar situation as Durant + he'd fit even better)
- maybe Griffin (nobody's ever turned down 1st MAX extension, so he'd stay for quite a while ... plays same position as Love, though)
Older stars are out of the question, because it just wouldn't be worth it. By the time the young Wolves get good enough to compete, that star (Dirk, Kobe etc.) would be too old.
It's quite crazy thinking about it. Also, keep in mind that it's not just his game, obviously, because I'm looking directly from owners point of view. Marketability plays a role ...

The Trade Board thread voted him in as having the 15th highest trade value in the NBA, and for a team like MIN, who's been starved for entertaining basketball for several years, he'd probably be even higher.
1. Kevin Durant
2. LeBron James
3. Derrick Rose
4. Blake Griffin
5. Dwight Howard
6. Dwyane Wade
7. Chris Paul
8. Kevin Love
9. LaMarcus Aldridge
10. Carmelo Anthony
11. Kobe Bryant
12. Dirk Nowitzki
13. Russell Westbrook
14. Kyrie Irving
15. Ricky Rubio
16. Deron Williams

And that list is "in a vacuum". Then it gets a bit different from team to team, based on situation and needs.
Guys like Kobe or Dirk, for example, aren't really that useful for the Wolves. 2-3 years of being a pretender and that would be it.
Melo & Westbrook are overrated.
Dwight would leave at the end of the season, as I already mentioned.
Wade is getting old and would probably be leaving in 2.5 years. LeBron is younger, but he'd most definitely be leaving in 2.5 years.
CP3 would also probably leave after next season.
Kevin Love is on the Wolves.

Kyrie is much less marketable + IMHO also not as good.
Aldridge is incompatible with Love & not really marketable.
That leaves us with:
1. Kevin Durant
3. Derrick Rose
4. Blake Griffin
