Madden, Anyone?
Is anybody interested in a Madden franchise (XBox 360)? I know better than to join random ones that die just as quickly as they get started, but I think it could be fun if a bunch of us did a draft and advanced the franchise on Sundays and Wednesdays or something? That way you're only on the hook for 2 games a week, which is more reasonable than most of the fanatics that want to play every day. I'm going through football withdrawal already...

My roommate has a 360 and I've been thinking about buying Madden for it. If we can get a league together, I'll play.

Jack or anyone else who has PS3, please leave your tag ID. Mine is ReggieWhite9292.
I would love to play against others who:
-Actually punt or kick FGs on 4th down. I understand going for it on 4th and inches or in the fourth quarter when necessary, but those who go for it on 4th and long the entire game annoy me. Either they get it and win or they don't get it and they quit.
- Don't run the same 2-5 plays on offense or defense the entire game. I understand there are some out there who can run the same play the entire game and win the game. As cool as that is, it's boring as heck. Again, usually it means I can't stop that play and they win or I do stop the play everytime and they quit.
- Don't glitch, quit....etc.
- Basically, just play a real game. I have specific plays that I could do over and over again and win that way, and very few can stop them however I like to play a real type of game. I enjoy playing with the Packers, have played with them since Madden first came out. It is so annoying seeing all these bandwagoners play with the Packers because they won the SB. If you want to play with the Packers too, we can both choose different teams. I play with any playbook on offense or defense as it's fun to find new plays.
If that sounds like something any PS3 owner would be interested, add me and invite me whenever you see me on.

lol, this was me when i played in previous maddens. Except i only went for it on 4th and 5 or shorter as I had a play that was almost guaranteed to get me enough yards.

Even 4th and 5 every once in a while is understandable, all though still annoying. My biggest problem is playing against someone who runs the same play 4 times, because sooner or later it is going to work.
1st and 10 - Play where the X and Z WR run out or fly routes, slot and TE run in routes. Pass INC to TE
2nd and 10- Same play, Pass INC to Z WR
3rd and 10- Same play, Pass INC to Slot WR
4th and 10 - Same play, Pass complete to X WR for first down.
If they get it INC and you score a TD on offense, they try a different play the same exact way. Then if you stop them again, they quit.

yeah, that is annoying for sure. I usually had 4 or 5 go to plays along with screens and runs.
Sometimes the worst players are the best, b/c you cant anticipate anything and they get super lucky

Yep, EA needs to create a way to stop the glitchers and quitters. If you quit, the other player gets to continue the game and ruin your stats. They also have some switch now where people can kick you off but continue playing without you, or stop the game and have it not count for anyone.
The PC players have to get better. I remember EA promising years ago that if you ran the same play numerous times, the PC would adapt quickly. This would be awesome.

Re: Madden, Anyone?
Yeah for me, online just wasnt fun anymore. I think i took it a little to serious and it felt like a chore to play online. I think i was something like 101-30 online, so it wasnt like i was struggling.
Then when I played the cpu, in franchise mode, I could blow them out like crazy on all-madden and that really wasnt fun either.
The last madden I had was 10, and I spent time with the ultimate team and playing a "gm" where I simulate all of the games but make all of the roster moves in the franchise mode. That was pretty fun.

Got the game release day but I really haven't played it much. I normally don't go all in on Madden until this time of year.

Re: Madden, Anyone?
Good game once again Profound. We should try to get as many people as we can and do an online franchise. I've never done one in Madden, only 2k and it could be a lot of fun.

Seriously, if any PS3 player wants to start a league then I will join. I am too lazy to start one myself.

Re: Madden, Anyone?
So someone tell me if I am right/wrong.
A friend of mine who I used to play Madden with constantly before it was even available online contacted me and asked me to play online. We always played real games (never using the same play more than 2-3 times, punt on 4th and long unless one is losing in the final moments, always kick FGs unless it makes no difference....etc).
I told him sure, as long as he didn't let the other online players change his style of playing. We played (Packers-me vs Eagles-him) and he ran the same three plays the entire game. He either tried to pass to Desean Jackson, Maclin, or run with McCoy/Vick. He refused to punt on 4th and 17 on three separate occasions. I picked it off numerous times and when he tried to run with Vick I popped him and he fumbled it. Was up 48-7 when he conceded victory.
He said I only won because I had the Packers. I told him I would play with any team/any playbook as long as he picked a different play book and didn't run the same play and would actually play real (punt/kick fgs) I picked San Diego against Dallas (mind you he always plays with Dallas or Philly). He picked the same playbook and it took me a while to figure out my new defense in order to stop his plays. By the time I figured out my defense he was already up by enough points to run the clock out and still refused to punt or kick FGs.
I sent a message, "what happened to you? You used to actually know how to play." Mind you any time I have ever lost to him previously, I said nothing more than good game.
He replied and said, ok best two out of three. This time I was Pitts against ATL. And yes he ran the same few plays, just audible between pass and run in the same formation. He continued to go for it on 4th and 3 or 4, and ALWAYS just got it by literally an inch somehow or another. He scored one TD and was up 7-0. I scored a TD, 70 yard run with 1 second left in the first half. He received the ball after half, I kicked off. He kept running the same few plays, driving 3-4 yards every play up the field. Instead of kicking FG, he went for it on 4th and 3 and I stuffed him at my 2 yard line.
I then (calling a different formation and play every time) picked up 3-4 yards every play but let the play clock run down to 1 second before snapping it. Got all the way from my 2 yard line to his 2 yard line at the two minute warning, he had no timeouts left so I did QB kneel three straight times and kicked the winning FG with clock hitting 0.
He whined that I ran the clock out and said I played scared. Honestly, I did it more because his gameplay was very annoying as he just exploited my computer players. Crossing WRs and if I went left, he passed right....if I went right, he passed left, if I went into a zone defense he ran up the middle, if I guarded both of those he ran with the QB. Same formation, same play all game long. So I
ran the clock out.
Am I wrong for wanting players to play real? I mean I warn them ahead of time that I enjoy playing games where I don't play the same play more than once if you don't and I will always punt/kick FGs unless otherwise necessary.

Haters gonna hate, I you are taking the game seriously I have no problems with how you played. Its kind of cheap but its the smart way of playing
