Rose Vs Wall Game-Thread 7PM EST

Post#1 » by closg00 » Mon Jan 30, 2012 6:31 pm

After failing to come through in the clutch against one of the NBA's best teams, Derrick Rose will look for redemption against one of the league's worst.

The Chicago Bulls seek their seventh consecutive win over the Washington Wizards on Monday night in the nation's capital.

Chicago (17-5) had a chance to win at Miami on Sunday, but Rose missed two free throws and then a potential tying jumper with 3.7 seconds left as the Bulls fell 97-93.

Rose - who had made his previous 29 fourth-quarter free-throw attempts - did tied his season high with his second straight 34-point performance, but was more concerned with the points he didn't score.

"This is so surreal right now knowing that I had a chance to win the game,'' said Rose, who also had 34 points in Friday's 107-100 win over Milwaukee. "And this time it didn't work out.

"I let my team down."

The reigning league MVP now looks to help the Bulls avoid their first back-to-back regular-season losses since Feb. 5 and 7. Fortunately, they've won their last six meetings with the Wizards - the last three by an average margin of more than 20 points.

Rose sat out with a sprained toe when these teams met Jan. 11 in Chicago, but John Lucas III picked up the slack by scoring 25 points in the Bulls' 78-64 victory. The 64 points scored by the Wizards in that contest were a franchise low.

Sorry, no Luv-a-Bulls pics :D

I smell an upset here. I truly do. If you watch sports then you can see these games coming at times. A few days ago the Magic had that 27pt lead on Boston & blew it. The next game they went to NO and I told everyone that the Hornets would own them. I knew that Magic would be too mentally disturbed from that loss to bounce back so quick. If the Magic had held on then they wouldve beat NO, and there season would be looking alot different right now.

This game is different because the Bulls obviously didnt blow a huge lead like that "but" that was a big time emotional game for them. The Heat put them out the playoffs and they left everything out on that floor. They felt they shouldve won and gave it there all. Now they have to go on the road the very next night against a bad team that they think will be a walkover. Add to that both Deng & Rip could be out.

Doesnt mean everything after they beat us already without Rose but I think we all would agree we are playing better now. Some might look at it and say they will take out there frustrations on us but I could see it going the opposite way. I think that team will be down. The wild card is Rose since he played 45min, gave his all, and missed those FT's. He could try to go off & get back or he could go in the tank like I think the rest of the team might. The bad thing for us is that we have Wall which Rose could get up for but the good thing is that Wall has been balling lately.

With our new style, we could run & fast pace a tired Bulls team to death. We have 2 problems though. 1 is scoring. Everything I say could be true, and we can dominate the 1st quarter but only be up like 22-16 because we dont have many pure scorers. The other is Boozer. He's a big huge body. Could be a bad matchup for JV. I might would wanna put Shard on Booz & let JV guard the 3 or maybe even McGee on Booz & let JV guard Noah. Boozer could be trouble all game so we have to run him & use our quickness. Good thing is he kinda sucks now and likes to shoot jumpers.

I just like us being confident, new style, Wall beasting now vs a depressed, tired, undermanned Bulls team. Have to watchout about Dray. He only played 8min last game but Witt said some of that was due to Dray being hurt but we're at home now and the blood is in the water. The crowd hates Dray and he's not mentally tough. If he plays then put him in but if he struggles any then yank him quick because it will only get worse when the crowd gets a hold of it and him not starting anymore. Should be fun

BTW, I love Wall's attitude, aggression, & passion lately. He's been balling like a monster and going all out. I dont see any player in the leauge like him right now. I love that mentality. I cant wait to see this matchup tonight. BTW, last game for the 1st time I saw us one run high screen where Wall got one on one with the big. He messed it up & had to kick it out but it seemed like he was shocked & didnt know how to handle it. Thats what I want to see more of. It should be our #1 play. He's too quick for any big if he gets use to it. Hope to see it some tonight even though the Bulls have some athletic bigs

We hung-on to beat Charlotte who were missing 3 starters. Rose is gonna put a hurtin on the Wizards after he choked last night, not-even the b2b will help us.

Blow out loss. McGee has a few WTF moments. I just hope the White Mamba can give us some serious hang time or 27 second of lock-down defense during garbage time.

1+ I think Rose and the Bulls will take out their frustration from last night's loss on the Wizards, I expect 20+ point loss to Bulls.

We also beat OKC at home with all there guys. Every game is different. The Bobcats were motivated to play us because they see us as the only team worse than them and they were at home. The Bulls could care less about us and already beat us without Rose. They wont be nearly as pumped to play as as the Bobcats were or as the Bulls were to play the Heat. Its a trap game and we are going to trap that ass. May not win but we should make them work for it

Thanks for coming-through Miller, a Bulls game-thread just wouldn't be complete w/o some Luv-a-Bulls.

Nothing makes me laugh like a Wizards / Bulls GT on the WizBoards. I love RealGM.

Bulls win, Rose outplays Wall, but at least we're not stuck with the Luv a Bulls.

Hamady has been recalled and Blatche is out 3-5 weeks, that's why Ves got he start last game.

"More bad news for the Wizards, Blatche out," the newscaster said. I couldn't tell if she was being facetious.

Rose just said he's upset about the Heat game and that he's going to go crazy tonight. Wall's been playing at a high level with mad intesity lately. Thats going to be a war. Cant wait to see that matchup and Booker vs Gibson off the bench

We couldn't handle John Lucas III the last time. I fear John resorting to Hero Ball tonight in a tit-for-tat vs Rose. It won't matter.
