Jose Bautista cover athlete for MLB The Show 12?

I was snooping around on twitter and saw that Bautista gave a tweet that said

Behind the scene shot from the @PlayStation shoot. Big news coming next week #MLB12TheShow http://say.ly/MIg1j98

He's doing a batting stance pose and seems like it could possibly be for the cover of the latest installment of MLB The Show. I'm not positive, but i think the last Toronto pro-athlete featured on a video game cover was Vince Carter on NBA 2005 by EA.

I googled this and saw on an ign board people saying that it could be for a Canadian version of the game. One person wrote it's Adrian Gonzalez that's supposed to be on the cover?

Adrian Gonzalez is the cover person, it was announced a few months ago. I would be thrilled if they had a Canadian cover but I doubt it.

I don't doubt it at all, I think that's the mostly likely outcome with regards to Bautista's announcement.
It'd be pretty cool to see the Blue Jays uni on the cover of the best sports game ever made, imo.

Toronto Blue Jays super-slugger Jose Bautista learned on Monday that winning two consecutive home run titles is enough to earn you the cover of baseball's premier video game – at least in Canada.

Bautista was announced as the Canadian cover athlete for MLB 12 The Show for Sony PlayStation systems.

Bautista led Major League Baseball with 43 home runs is 2011 and 54 home runs in a breakout 2010 with the Jays.

Sony's MLB The Show video game series has been the highest-selling sports game for the past four years. Previous stars to grace the cover include Canadian Joe Mauer, catcher for the Minnesota Twins, and New York Mets first baseman David Wright.

Boston Red Sox first baseman Adrian Gonzalez will be featured on the cover of games sold in the United States.

MLB 12 The Show will be released on March 6 for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita.

So, according to the article, Gonzales is the cover athlete for the US edition, and Bautista for the Canadian edition.

Does anybody have any word on the various international editions?

Not a fan of the digitized, airbrushed version. Gonzalez looks more normal.

Probably for magazines and other types of media like that.
