Can someone please tell the freaking heat announcers how to say belinelli? IT'S NOT BELLY-NELLY FOR F'S SAKE!!! When I saw they played the Hornets tonight I instantly dreaded it because of this.

Yeah normally its Tony screwing up the names, but for some reason Eric has this weird habit with Belinelli. I can't explain it.

Seriously though, if he can keep doing this, and be willing to shoot when open, it finally makes sense to knock JJ out of the rotation. Miller playing the way he's capable of gives you the shooting of Jones with a whole lot more versatility, and Battier is by far the best defender of the 3.

i always said Mike is a good fit for us, but i really want him to become the first one off the bench. Battier should come up after him, and Mike should get around 24 minutes a night and more shots.
i like how we use him for the mid range screen&curl plays to get him open, i think he would be even better if he gets more touches and more confidence. not only is he a great offensive rebounder, he also helps our Offensive versatility.

Come on GreenHat, I think you're being unnecessarily harsh on Miller. If he plays the way he's been playing, I honestly think he makes the perfect compliment to Wade/James at the end of games, over Chalmers and Battier. It gives us 3 ball-handlers and shot creators, a dead eye shooter, an at least average defender, a very above average rebounder for his height, and just makes us extremely versatile.

In a lot of ways, he could fill the Kukoc role from the late 90's Bulls.

If you were that hellbent on creating MLE space, Joel would've been the obvious choice to amnesty (and we knew that was never going to happen). Either way, its still questionable whether we could've picked up Dalembert, or any significant upgrade for that matter.

The real shame is that we couldn't have gotten this Miller last season... that might've equaled a championship, and no need to pursue Battier in free agency, which would have opened up the ability to amnesty Joel and pursue an upgrade at center hard.

All that of course is if Mike can stay healthy and maintain his level of play. The injuries aren't predictable, but I think this is the player he really can be. Last year was an anomaly if you look at his career and consider he's not a guy that relies on athleticism to do his damage. Even the past couple of years in Minnesota and Washington, he was still a great shooter, he just wasn't shooting enough for them, but we don't need that here, we just need him to feast off the attention Wade and James draw.

After the Chalmers deal it would have had to have been Miller. Joel didn't make enough.

I don't think I am being too hard on him. He's shooting amazing. I'm just less optimistic that he will keep it up and stay healthy for the next four years.

I disagree with your assessment that he makes the perfect fit with Wade and James out there at the end mainly because I disagree with your calling Miller an "average" defender. Miller is a bad defender, not really close to average anymore. I feel he gets bumped up to average by fans because of "scrappy, hustling white guy" syndrome. He really is a poor defender at this stage in his career. And he can't guard point guards at all.

I'd rather have Chalmers out there. He's a much better defender (who can guard point guards) and has shot well over 600 minutes instead of 170. Chalmers also has an assist% almost three times what Miller has so it seems like Miller is living more on reputation as a playmaker. I don't want either of them trying to create much anyway because we have Lebron and Wade. And I'd take the defense over the rebounding.

Kukoc on the Bulls was much better than Miller is so I don't see the comparison. I'd say Chalmers is more like B.J Armstrong than Miller is like Kukoc.

Amnestying Joel wouldn't have been enough to use the full MLE and the Bi-annual. He didn't make enough. It had to be Miller. And like I said given the contract Dalembert ultimately signed I think we could have had a chance with the full MLE. I disagree that we couldn't acquire a significant upgrade though. If we strike out with the full MLE and the bi-annual completely that would be our own fault.

I agree that if Miller got this hot for a handful of games specifically in the finals we could have won. But that could have happened if Lebron, Chalmers, Jones or Bibby did too. I wouldn't count on Miller staying healthy and shooting this well and definitely not for four years. And again amnestying Joel wasn't enough money. It had to be Miller.

I agree that its all predicated on him maintaining his level of play and staying healthy. I think he is a much worse defender than you do so the level of shooting I want is higher than the level of shooting you would want at a minimum. I think its wrong of you to completely dismiss last year as an "anomaly" when that's a lot closer to his true talent level and over a larger sample than this year.

If anything what he has done so far is the anomaly. Sure maybe Miller is now by far the best shooter of all time but it also could possibly be that its been 170 minutes.

I just think that he won't maintain being the best shooter of all time and stay healthy for 4 years while doing it.

It's not like I said I wish he got hit by a bus, I just didn't think he was worth his contract and that I would want to cut the 4 years of it to try to get someone(s) better with the full MLE and bi-annual

Again if he shoots like this it won't matter that he's a bad defender or what we could have gotten instead. I'd love to be wrong and have Miller win a couple of Finals MVPs

Click the "listen" (speaker) button in the bottom right corner of the left box.

The emphasis is on "nelli", "beli" is pronounced a bit softer and quicker.

I just watched the game on my league pass. We were pretty sloppy and lackadaisical in the early stages of the game but a run to bring us back towards the end of the half and another one to give us a nice cushion towards the end of the 3rd were enough to secure the win. My personal highlights were the role players finishing the job in the 4th and The Big Three receiving a lot of rest.
