Utah's Regional Links

Post#1 » by MeestR » Wed Feb 1, 2012 7:17 am

Utah Jazz is our only top tier pro team with a forum on realgm. Howard Mass just made a global announcement about regional links. i feel kinda left out.

i propose that utah fans get to vote, and then our moderators should be able to choose what 5 other forums to link on top of the jazz forum.

i only chose a few forums i thought might interest the local folk based on my conversations with strangers who are out and about. but obviously there will be other opinions too. (i haven't had too many NHL conversations, and so i left out any hockey teams. but there are NHL forums to link to as well.)

I was going to say 49ers but than I pulled a Kyle Williams and took a football to the knee.

There are 3 NBA teams with no links. Utah, San Antonio and Oklahoma City. I for one don't want to be Portland with rival city links. Salt Lake City is an oasis. It makes it a better place.

but what is salt lake city's nickname? not "Oasis of the West." it is "Crossroads of the West." it is in our nature(or should be) to include other cultures and cities into our own. but you are right, i would not feel comfortable with more than one denver link. however, i think if it were in company with other teams that people like to follow, then it would be just dandy to me.

(having 2 seattle links on top of portland does seem a little weird to me. may-haps they should have a vote, too?)

The only one of those that are relevant to Utah is the college football link - the rest are just for bandwagon fans that follow former Utah/BYU/etc. players out of school....in that case, we mine as well throw Sacramento and Milwaukee in there.

I don't really see the need. Furthermore, if I have to look at a Denver Broncos logo every time I visit this forum it'll make me want to vomit.

There are no specific team boards for that. The team that got screwed is the Islanders.
