Gotta love that ESPN lotto generator. Interesting to plan out a lineup based on who we draft with a classic IF draft x then do y
First I'd look to deal DeRozan for Mayo and a future Memphis pick (even if its 2015). I just feel Mayo would work well here and can be re-signed in the off-season. I know the Raps could just sign him outright, but I feel it's very worthwhile to at least have the ability to match any salary for him and perserve him for market value.
Next I'd deal Jose Calderon, even on draft day, for Devin Harris
In the off-season, I'd look to sign Chase Budinger as a shooter off the bench
A. Here's my thinking:
If we draft a big - (A. Davis, Drummond, Sullinger, T. Robinson, P. Jones, C. Zeller, M. Leonard, J. Henson, P. Young, T. Zeller With the latter guys it is rarer since we'd take a wing, just throwing their names based on ESPN lotto generator)
Trade Amir Johnson and Linas Kleiza FOR Andre Iguodala
-Why? Philly sheds salary and gets a nice young 5 going forward. Toronto is going to have a slew of youth and will need Iggy's stability on the offensive end to maintain nice flow. He also can generate many assist and work the offense accordingly.
PF J. Sullinger/ A. Bargnani
SF A. Igoduala/ J. Johnson
C J. Valanciunas/ E. Davis
SG OJ Mayo/ C. Budinger
PG D. Harris/ G. Forbes
B. If we draft a wing (Barnes, MKG, Lamb, Beal)
PF A. Bargnani/ E. Davis
SF H. Barnes/ J. Johnson
C J. Valaciunas/ A. Johnson
SG OJ Mayo/ C. Budinger
PG D. Harris/ G. Forbes
After sifting these scenarios, how is option 1 not better?
Another idea is to try and sign Mayo out right (and then deal DeRozan on draft day for another pick to land a backup PG or combo guard via Cleveland, NOH, PHX in the 10 - 15 range and snag Beal, Lamb, Rivers, Marshall or Teague. (Take the above rotation and switch Forbes with rookie)
