Getting Wolves a SG and C (revised)

Post#1 » by rugbyrugger23 » Thu Feb 2, 2012 4:54 pm

Wolves and Kings roster makeup, positional needs, and now Kings recent nose-dive prove to be great trading partner potential.

Traded to Wolves: Thornton, Garcia, McGee
Traded to Kings: DWill, Rid, Beasley, Darko, Wizards 1st Rd (top 3 protected)
Traded to Wizards: Cousins, Jazz 1st Rd via Wolves

Wolves Lineup:
C-McGee/Pek: Yes McGee has some issues that must be remedied; but huge improvements can be expected in a more promising situation (Wolves franchise) then current surroundings. Also on a roster with a hard-working-blue-collar leader (Love) and pass first PG (Rubio), his athletic ability within a very defined role would be given every opportunity to excel and mature. Plus McGee/Pek is a nice 1-2 punch at center position.

PF-Love/AR: Love would continue to be lead-by-example alpha scoring dog and mentor to McGee.

SF-Webster/Wes: Sharp shooting would become important for SF position, Webster fits that role. Wes coming off the bench at more natural 3 spot would be given ample opportunity to prove himself outside of starting lineup expectations and responsibilities.

SG-Thornton/Garcia: Thornton would excel running the break with the Spaniard. Garcia would have to except vet support minutes or be bought out of contract and give way to Ellington/Lee.

PG-Rubio/JJ: Rubio surrounded by balanced roster with talent at all positions would be given every opportunity to develop and excel as best true PG in association.

Kings Lineup:
C-Hayes/Darko: Nice combo at center and at minimum in this trade Darko’s contract is less on the books then Garcia.

PF-Hickson/DW: At his natural 4 position, DW would be given every opportunity to prove what made him the #2 pick.

SF-Beasley/Greene: Beasley is the wild card in this trade. On Kings roster within their system he could become alpha scoring dog; top 10 in scoring potential (top 5 in shots per game too). He might finally find himself in the perfect situation allowing his potential to be actualized.

SG-Evans/Salmons: Getting most of his minutes at SG (no more Thornton or Garcia), Evans in more defined role would need to deliver on his high expectations.

PG-Rid/Jimmer: Rid would serve as a nice mentor to Jimmer and both work well in a 2 guard set with Evans.

Wizards: Trade McGee without leaving a big gap at center and hope the Wall-Cousins combo will allow both players to live up to full potential.

Don't think we'd want Evans and his fit on this team.

You could get involved in a Dwight to Chicago trade and take Joakim :)

Sorry to disagree but I don´t think Kings would ever accept such a deal. Right now Cousins and Evans are the pieces to build around. Evans already got his ROY and Cousins is very very promising. Huge trade value i would say.

In addition, I would say Evans is the oposite SG to what we need (he needs a lot of ball... is the opposite to Rubio).

And I see Pekovic as a similar type of player as Cousins.

Reke isn't the ideal fit at SG for us and if we wanted Cousins he'd already be here. Not to mention, those two are the Kings' building blocks. Moving them would be like us moving Rubio & Love in a deal.

I'd see if Thornton could be had. He might be a bad fit with Beasley but it can't be any worse than what we have currently.

The team is right, but not the pieces.

Ridnour, Johnson, Milicic for Thornton, Hayes.

Pek is showing he is a legit Nba center.. As a low post scorer he can be dominant against most teams.. He is elite in post scoring. What a player. He is starting to do what he was doing in Europe. In the last games he changed completely the way Minnesota plays. Now we have an inside out game.. much better. And I tell u, i f I have to give the ball to someone in the post, u give it to Pek, not Love. Pek is a monster inside :)

rugby, while I''m not a fan of this trade in particular, I've liked your out of the box thinking, and I've appreciated many of your trades. Keep it up!

If I could make one small request, it would be that you make a minor format change, listing what goes in, and what goes out, for each team when you have trades with 3 or more teams. It takes a little longer for the poster, but it makes it much easier for the reader to quickly figure out what you're trying to get across.

Anyway, keep on making those trades!
