Whose Really Our PF?
First off, this is not a post to Bash Bosh. He is a fantastic player ranking top twenty in both ppg as well as field goal % playing next to two GREAT players who dominate the ball. Simply put, he is one of the top 5 PF in the NBA.
As our PF he SHOULD be leading the team in rebounds (we dont have a rebounding center), however we have Udonis off the bench, Mike Miller, Lebron, and Wade who are all great rebounders for their position. Udonis and Lebron James currently lead the team in RPG at 8.3 each.
What's interesting though is that for the past 5 games Lebron has averaged 29.4 ppg and 10 rpg
and Bosh 14ppg and 7.6rpg.
I realize its a small sample size, but its seems like Lebron is playing more like a Power Foward but mixing in a (very) selective shots from the perimeter. Its mind boggling the season he's having thus far.
So I ask the question who really is our PF?
P.S. Lebron is leading the team in PPG, RPG and APG and was recently SPG as well, but Wade passed him(had that 5 steals against NY)

Re: Whose Really Our PF?
I think I'll fire back with another question: Does it really matter? Take for example the lineup we ran in the 4th quarter: Wade/Miller/LeBron/Bosh/UD
Who's the PG? Who's the SG? Who's the SF? Who's the PF? Who's the C?
All I know is that all those guys are above average rebounders. In fact, Bosh, pound for pound, may be the worst rebounder out of all those. But they create positional advantages and are able to gang rebound well. I don't think the reason that LeBron's getting all those boards over Bosh is because he's playing the PF position. I just think he's a really, really good rebounder, whereas Bosh is average.
I guess if you really are looking for a way to define who plays what position, look at who the player is guarding. LeBron usually covers the SF, Bosh the PF. There are exceptions to this rule obviously, but still, Bosh is definitely our Power Forward, if only in name.

Bosh has had a 10 pt and 12 pt game back to back, rebounds isn't his issue right now.

Exactly. I'm not discrediting Bosh son got game. I love the first play they run at the beginning of each game for him. Its just Lebron is an absolute beast. Throughout the game Wade will play the 1 or 2 and Lebron plays 1-4. He is the one of the main reasons why Miami can create so many lethal and versatile lineups.

Bosh doesn't jump for most rebounds. He just coasts. However, when it's time to hustle, you'll see him go up with effort and energy, and he can grab them when he needs to. I think he sees Lebron and UD taking care of the glass these days and is just taking it easy. That or he's boxing out, but I don't really pay attention to that with the exception of Joel. PEACE.

i dont understand the question, the stats he gets doesnt dictate the position, otherwise bargnani wouldnt be a C, lebron might be considered a PG, and so forth, it's playstyle, and lebron plays nothing like a PF

KG and Dirk revolutionized the PF position. They didn't play like the "tradional PF" either. I think lebron is our best pg,sg,sf and pf; he can outplay anyone on this team at each position. His usage in the post has skyrocketed this season and when he's down there he looks like a PF to me lol

Doesn't make sense. Bron is defended by the likes of Paul Pierce so how does that make Lebron a Power forward? Just because he plays in the post?
Kobe Bryant is 15 times better than Lebron in the post but that doesn't make him a Power Forward.
Bosh plays more like a PF because he is actually defended by bigger people.

Re: Whose Really Our PF?
I think people are getting a bit defensive here.
But rebounding for Bosh has been an issue since last year. Against the Bulls I believe it was, I actually would see him jump for rebounds. He does not do that on a nightly basis. LeBron now, you see him fighting for the rebounds nowadays.
At one point UD was averaging 10 a game, more than Bosh in less time. UD is a great rebounder, and he shows it's all about your WILL to get the ball. Bosh on most nights, doesn't have the will to get rebounds. Because he's the tallest guy on the team, it's like he just waits for the ball to get to him. He also doesn't box out.
But even with all that being said, Bosh is still the PF lol. I know he doesn't play like it, he plays like a very tall small forward lol.
But his scoring since Wade has came back (besides against Chicago) has been terrible. He has gone back to being the random guy in the offense...

That's all Im saying lol. I honestly believe Lebron would destroy those same players that guard Bosh because he's faster, just as strong and can take them off the dribble. Lebron is a 2k created player and I don't think a lot of people (outside of Miami's fan base) realize how gifted this man really is. He changes the dynamics of the game whenever he's in it.

I do believe he's in a temporary scoring drought and I predicted he'd get out of his funk against Philadelphia. Wade and Lebron ended up dominating that game, but we play Toronto next on Sunday. He's bound to go off against his old team. I respect the hell out of Bosh though he's had to change up the most out of the big 3

Lebron is more effective. Sure when Kobe hit one of those fallaways it looks prettier than Lebron in the post but Kobe only makes it 1/3 times. I'd rather take the guy who scores more often than the guy who looks silkier doing it.
