From another fan perspective!

Post#1 » by Chri2Kng » Mon Jan 30, 2012 8:42 pm

The Sun should have won at least one championship this decade. There are three different types of team in the NBA. Team that suck, team that are middle of the road, and team that are good, and the Sun should have been the latter.

I don't know why your owner is so cheap and your front-court office suck but a team that make it to the WCF should not go into rebuilding mode. You guys are the #1 in drafting but you always trade good players and draft picks away.

A team of Nash, Amare, Johnson is good enough to win a ship. Can't really blame anyone but your team.

1. Maybe I'm the only one who thinks this way but Sarver is not a cheap owner.

2. There's a big difference between drafting a guy for your team or drafting a guy because another team told you to do so. Lakers had to rebuild, Celtics had to rebuild. Every team must rebuild at a certain point. Some teams are just big market teams and it was much easier to rebuild for them.

3. Injuries, bad luck and prime Duncan are the reasons why we did not win a championship.

Don't know who you are but I think thousands of us suns fans are asking the same thing for the last 5-6 years. I guess cheap people are always cheap.
I am such a lucky NBA fan. 8647 My favorite team went from the most greedy and racist owner to the most ego driven dumbass owner in all of sports fdt.

I agree, he isn't cheap. He is just extremely questionable about who he has allowed the Suns to invest in. Bad advice, with bad GMs equals the spot we are in. Often he was riding the luxury tax.

Agree GrantHill. hes not cheap, but poor management and moves have put the suns in this position. They are also trying to please the fans by keeping certain players and not moving on as a real business would do.

No.
Just no.
I mean, don't even get me started about Joe Johnson, Kurt Thomas, Deng/Iggy and Ibaka.

Just because he paid luxury tax doesn't mean he wasn't trying his hardest to get out of it, and hence all the horrible trades.

We threw in another first rounder in the Shawn Marion trade? Really? REALLY?

This thread made me angry that the 2006-2007 Phoenix Suns opening night lineup didn't look like this...

Steve Nash/Rajon Rondo
Joe Johnson/Leandro Barbosa
Quentin Richardson/Luol Deng
Shawn Marion/Steven Hunter
Amare Stoudemire/Marcin Gortat

All because of Robert Sarvers cheap ass.

Joe Johnson told the FO not to match Atlanta's offer and D'Antoni didn't want rookies on a championship contender. We didn't even choose Iggy, Rondo or Ibaka. The other teams told us to do so. Nash told Kerr to trade Marion for Shaq. The Kurt Thomas deal was the only horrible decision by Sarver.

Joe Johnson wanted to leave because of a low ball offer according to my memory.
We could have picked those players I mentioned. Don't you get it?

http://www.amazon.com/Book-Basketball-N ... 034551176X

Read that book. Look for the "what could have been section", i think its called that. Read the part about the Suns.
1 Get Joe Johnson, the perfect fit to your system, to be so mad at you that HE ASKS YOU NOT TO MATCH.
2- Then sign guys like Marcus Bank to an insane contract.

Its my favorite part of that book
