any Larry Hughes news? seems like he gave up trying to play in the NBA. no news on him playing exhibition games with current NBA players.

Saw some Clippers highlights. Butler looks pretty good in his new role. Little chance to play hero ball, with Paul and Billups finiding him open, taking pressure off him with their shots, and Griffin to work closer in. He's shooting 5.9 threes per game (nearly twice any other season) and hitting a .360 % (second highest of his career).

Orlando needs to sign Juan Dixon next.

They dodged the Wizards bullet, and Hughes' team-specific expertise became expendable.

Hughes' big mistake was to bolt the Wizards to play alongside Lebron. He had his best years playing in DC with Arenas.

Didn't Larry get paid some nice cheddar to go play in Cleveland? They also went to the Finals with him starting. Yep, he bombed and had his best days with Gil, but I wonder if he'd take anything back?

In other former Wizard news, Mike James had a cup of coffee with the Nets before being waived about a week ago.

Wonder what Earl Boykins is up to these days?

Big-ups to Caron, the DMV is still home.
Butler kept his home in Centreville, where his wife, Andrea, and their three daughters, Mia, Gia and Ava, reside while he is in Los Angeles. He didn’t even pack much for the trip, as he planned to pick up some items from his house to take with him on the Clippers’ six-game road trip that begins and ends with his previous two teams.

I am happy for Caron. This guy exuded toughness during his time with the Wizards and is my second favorite Wizard ever behind Arenas.

LOVE Caron Butler. One of my all time faves and most definitely deserving of a ring.

:)

That was classy, I hope we have an organization that's like this one day.

I think last week or so when Dave Johnson filled in for Glen Consor on the Wizards radi opostgame show after the Clippers loss, he mentioned that he had talked to Larry and Larry said that he should have stayed with the Wizards in hindsight.

This was the one of the big three I said to build around and he is my favorite modern day Wizard.

Basketball is more then flash. It is about personality and character. At least at the level regarding who to build around.

They should have traded Gil and AJ when they had value. Just glad they both got rings.

I will always find it interesting that CB, Haywood and D Sleezy all got rings from the same team and Kidd was available from NJ for the right price. Granted, you are missing a big final piece in Dirk but still, Gil and a huge expiring AJ contract should have yielded something of quality. What a different world it could have been.

From box score, Mike James was decent in return to the Bulls. Wonder if they keep him for the season?

They shouldn't. James had a few decent years, but his last worthwhile season was 06-07. We're 6 years later now. If James stays with the Bulls and continues to get playing time, his offensive rating will be back below 100 with a quickness.

It's weird though. He actually looked decent last night, hardly resembling the unconscious chucker he was here. I thought he actually played pretty well. How does that happen?

He's 36 now. Maybe he's finally learned his limitations.

Maybe.
