And let's not forget how willing a passer Ves is. He's such a great glue guy. It's wonderful how aware he is of his limitations and doesn't force anything offensively.
Now if we can only get him to hit the rim on his jump shots. That will be a nice step forward.
If his highlight reels are to be believed Vesely can take it coast to coast - his dribbling seems fine.

You forgot the part about putting 25 pounds on him and turning him into a PF or is it a SF if the shooting coach can work a miracle?...............

There's some potential there, but the guy has to stay on the court and stop fouling. Weren't fundamentals - other than shooting - supposed to be his strong suit. How many forwards are there at any level of competition - where you wonder if the guys going to even hit the rim on his free throws? Over the summer, lock him in the gym 24/7 and make him work on shooting and lifting, and he can suck on protein shakes.
Ed Wood wrote:You could make the argument that this draft was the result of Ernie being a little too cognizant of his detractors and of the very real possibility that he'd have to face what had been percieved as his major flaws. The franchise had been so awful defensively, and worse in the court of public opinion than in (the nevertheless bad) reality and the loudest condemnation of his tenure had been a lack of interest in assembling a solid defensive team.
So he, as I think some here would say is characteristic of him, allowed himself to be overly omnifocused on a single issue and selected the two players who would unquestionably be considered "defense first" or even "defense only" picks so it could not be said of him that he didn't care about defense. Myself my biggest issue has long been that I feel there is an enormous amount of knowledge to be gleaned via statistical analysis of the game and I don't think Grunfeld is especially interested in doing so.
Anyway Vesely isn't any good and while it's imprudent to be so premature I'm totally onboard to see if he can't be unloaded while there's someone who's been asleep at the wheel. Charlotte used to be my go-to for that sort of thing but I think Rich Cho has some idea what he's doing so I'm going to go ahead and say I'd be on the phone with Toronto, Detroit and maybe New Orleans, but I'm not particular.
