The way to the playoffs

Post#1 » by VivaRubio » Sun Feb 5, 2012 6:09 pm

These are the games that they lack the Timberwolves to play to try to qualify for the playoffs:
( Home - Away )

Boston ( 1 - 0 )
Charlotte ( 1 - 1 )
Dallas ( 1 - 0 )
Denver ( 2 - 2 )
Detroit ( 0 - 1 )
Golden State ( 2 - 1 )
Houston ( 0 - 1 )
Indiana ( 0 - 1 )
L.A.Clippers ( 2 - 1 )
L.A.Lakers ( 1 - 2 )
Memphis ( 1 - 2 )
New Orleans ( 1 - 1 )
New York ( 1 - 0 )
Oklahoma City ( 1 - 1 )
Orlando ( 0 - 1 )
Phildelphia ( 1 - 0 )
Phoenix ( 1 - 2 )
Portland ( 1 - 2 )
Sacramento ( 1 - 2 )
San Antonio ( 0 - 1 )
Utah ( 1 - 1 )

The Wolves will play no more with: Atlanta, Chicago, Cleveland, Miami, Milwaukee, New Jersey, Toronto and Washington

How about the calendar? Is it good or bad for Wolves?

Then we'll visit the Grizz on Wednesday. But we'll be rested to receive the Knicks on Saturday. Monday, back to the East to visit Orlando. Then, Bobcats at the Target on Wednesday 15th, last visit to Houston that Friday and we'll receive Philly Sunday 19th.

From the 20th til March 27th, we'll have the toughest part of our schedule this season against west teams wih 19 games (only 4 against below .500) and 13 of those on the road.

Then everything comes back to "normal". And the only tough stretch would be the week of April between the 11th and the 19th, with 5 games (Clippers, Thunder & Grizz @home; @Denver & @Indianapolis).

Will our young legs and deep rotation help us make it to that week still in the melee for the PO? I hope so.

Its difficult too say, note that Wolves are playing better away than home.
I wonder why Wolves are going to play 4 times against some teams and less than 4 agains others teams? Should't play same times with all teams?

Sry for my bad english.

Shortened season, we only play some east teams 1 time, like the Heat, Bulls, Magic, Knicks and some twice, like the Pacers.

The schedule is all **** up

Looks like the Grizzlies are dropping one to the Celtics today (2/5/12)

As of right now, the standings look like this for the last 3 playoff spots:

Portland (6) - 14-10
Lakers (7) - 14-10
Dallas (8) - 14-11

9th place - Rockets - 13-11
10th/11th place - Grizzlies and Wolves 12-12

We need to get the Sacramento game tomorrow and kill two birds with one stone by beating Memphis, but they are a tough team. Tony Allen was out today against the Celtics, no word on how long he was out.

We are 2.5 games out of the 6th seed, THE 6th SEED! Imagine if we were the 6th seed and played the 3rd seeded spurs, that would be amazing.

It's going to be difficult, getting a positive record should be good enough this season but this team is so weird you can expect anything: they have a better record in the road than home -New Jersey and New Orleans are the other 2 teams in the NBA this season, but the difference isn't as big as the Timberwolves one-, they are 6-1 against Texas teams but lost against Toronto and Cleveland...

Hope they can win all games this week -Sacramento, @Memphis, Dallas and New York-, that puts the team in playoffs probably and that would be a confidence boost to stay in that spot as long as possible.

Staying ahead of the Rockets as the Jazz come back to earth will be the key IMO.

Talking about MInnesota gets 7# or 8# s position, I think this league will start at middle March with 7 consecutive road games. These 7 games and the physical condition for the final sprint will be the keys. The games against Houston, Utah, Memphis, Denver and Portland will be key too due the self-esteem.
