I don't think it's spoiled/bad/anything like that to think of it as a failure if they don't win the Super Bowl. The whole season doesn't mean much if you don't win the Super Bowl, a la the "perfect season". Then again I've been told in life I'm more of a hardass, I guess :dontknow:

I feel bad for Wilfork though. He does a great job without having much around him. I never thought he got the credit he deserves by the rest of the sports world, especially when you have guys like Brady/Welker/Gronk. The kind of guy where stats don't tell the whole story of his impact.

And yes they need to stop pulling that two picks for the price of one bull ****. I'd rather have one player that can PLAY than two players that are mediocre. Too bad they don't share the same sentiments.

I'm sad. Pissed and sad.

Didn't help that all the people I was with were Giants fans that wanted to rub it in.

The Giants showed up to play - the pats were **** all night outside of those two TD drives. Right when Branch and Welker missed those two catches, I knew the giants were going to win. 5 minutes to go, just enough time for them to get a TD, and leave us with no time to do anything.

Hard pill to swallow.

Positives though, i did not pick this team to go to the super bowl at all. i think most of us would agree that at the beginning of the season, after that loss to the Jets, there really just didn't seem to be any hope for this team in the playoffs anymore. Then they surprised me and won the AFC. I am happy with that.

5 super bowl appearances in the last 10 years. I can't ask for much more than that as a Patriots fan, and I hope they go all the way again next year and get the win this time. Who knows, I still have faith.

I probably won't be around this board for a few days. Tough loss.

Pats need a wide receiver that can catch it deep, some1 tall. Otherwise it's true, Pats and Brady beat themselves, I wrote it once, write it again here. Too many easy oppourtunities missed. :) And that Brady interception, when he didn't need to throw it deep was super bad, got no idea what Tommy was thinking.
Good assessment:

PLO wrote:Tatum played OK - took advantage of a few mismatches - decent on the defensive end. He is what we thought he was going into the season - a technically very proficient player operating close to his career ceiling as a rookie.

He was trying to be like Eli Manning.

Sorry, I am not the person to smack talk, but I could not resist on that one.

Like I said giselle talks too **** much. Her recent comments about the receivers even if she was right shows what I meant. BRADY NEEDS TO KEEP HER IN CHECK

How exactly do you expect Brady to keep her in check? He has no control over what she says. All he can do is tell her to keep her mouth shut now that it's already been said.

Don't think Tom's the type of dude that would control his woman like that, and Giselle seems to be an alpha too, but she does seem to get him in some funky situations.

On the actual team... I hope we invest in some playmaykers on D be it through the draft of FA, because we have a lot of great solid players, but besides Big Vince there aren't many guys to scheme againsts, like back in the bowl winning days with Seymour, Ted, Young Vince, Law, Rodney, Bruschi, Vrabel, and that's just to name a few. We forget how loaded we were on D back then, which was the reason Tom didn't have to put up godly numbers offensively and we won a lot (and one year of Clock Killin' Dillon). Clitche, but its always defense that wins championships.

I was half-joking when i said he should "keep her in check" but even before she was Brady, she was known for being extremely outspoken about things unrelated to football.

Not saying being outspoken is a bad thing but i think she just went overboard in this situation.'

And i really DO NOT want to just be cliche and say that its excused because she is the quarterback's wife.

I do not know about you guys but i am worried about things that she may say in the future from now. People as spoken as her don't just all of a sudden change over night(unless their Ochocinco lol)

I really wouldn't worry about it much. I'm sure she'd get a talking to because no one in New England wants to hear that **** right now, especially those who she's criticizing.

And on the mock draft sites a lot of the players that the Pats may pick are listed as pass rushers. Some secondary guys too, so hopefully they'll take that route in the draft as opposed to going after more RBs, TEs, etc.

This loss hurt, but Miami blowing the Finals hurt more a hell of a lot more. (Don't kill me for being a Heat fan, we all have our teams lol)

With that said, I knew this game was over when Eli started skipping onto the field with 3 something left in the 4th. No point in summarizing everything because it's all said and done. All I'm gonna say is I don't think Gronk looked any higher than 30% in my eyes.

But we have 2 first rounders and 2 second rounders that better be getting us some PASS RUSH. A deep threat would be nice, but our offense isn't the problem.

And I'm still undecided if I want Ocho back next year. It's more fun ragging on him because he doesn't play, but money should be spent elsewhere.

Can't remember where I heard or read it...but I thought it was appropriate...

We've been Peyton's Colts the last few years. :(

Too much focus on offense and we forgot that having a complete, all around team won us those Super Bowls.

Not sure what to think of that. If I were the one losing in the Super Bowl I'd be like Garnett and go to that dark, dark place. Everyone takes it differently I guess. Probably better off getting over it as soon as possible but I would have preferred them not doing that.

Of course the media's going to make a huge deal about it though.

Giants running back Brandon Jacobs has some advice for budding football analyst Gisele Bundchen.
"She just needs to continue to be cute and shut up," Jacobs said of Tom Brady's wife at the MetLife Stadium rally for the Super Bowl champion Giants.

God here we go.

So annoyed that these loud mouths get away with this nonsense. And if their "little brother" team the Jets, does the same thing they turn into hypocrites.

As unlikely as it probably is i would love to have a rematch next year in the Super Bowl with these guys.

Brady definitely is not going to forget what Jacobs said about Giselle

Nice to know he cares, but why should he? Whether people like it or not there is some truth in what she's saying.

I could give a crap less about Gisele's comments. It's a big who cares from me.

Tommy made plenty of bad throws to go along with the drops though.

Under threw Gronk...and I have no idea what he was thinking on that one. You just don't throw it, or at worst, you don't under throw it knowing your guy is hobbled badly and won't be able to stop quickly and come back to the ball. Think he goes Brett Favre sometimes and forgets he isn't tossing it to 07 Randy Moss anymore.

He and Wes share the blame on the most famous drop. Wes should've caught, but then again he shouldn't have had to turn the way he did because Brady threw to the wrong shoulder.
