The Orlando Suns?

Post#1 » by mybloodisorange » Mon Feb 6, 2012 10:50 am

I'm sure you have already read reports that New York is in talks with Orlando to possibly swap Amare+Chandler for Howard. Seems like a decent deal for both teams; one of the rare trades that could benefit both sides.

Now its still just in the talking phase and there is no guarantee it will go down but for the sake of this thread lets assume it does which brings me to my point. Orlando would get something in return and lets not forget that JRich is still the starting SG there and is tied up for 3 more years.

Let say the Suns trade Nash to Orlando for draft picks & expirings/trade exceptions. This would be a total reincarnation of SSOL!

Nash+JRich+whoever+Amare+Chandler.

I will always be a Suns fan but I will definetly root for Orlando in that case and isnt Amare from Florida or something also? I still dont like Hedo but they could try it out and to be honest the presence of Chandler would more than offset it.

Before I get flamed yes I know its highly speculative and has about .01% chance of happening but it is possible and you have to admit it would be pretty fun for us seeing the old run n gun suns rise from the ashes through MAGIC. And I would have a team to root for during our rebuilding/tanking phase.

Wouldn't hate it. I'd watch em. Orlando has been my Eastern Conference team for some time now.

That is a terrible trade for us.

J-Rich would be useless without Nash in our system, and Ryan Anderson is the most overrated player in the league

If we dump Frye, Warrick and Childress in this trade, not important to NYK or Magic - i'd take it instantly. One bad contract&bad player in JRich for 3 very bad assets = great

Same. The point was to reunite Nash, JRich and Amare in Orlando with the center the never had in Phoenix (no offense to Kurt Thomas). Bringing JRich here completely destroys the whole purpose of having them reunited and why would you start rebuilding around JRich anyway???

We arent going to get much for Nash no matter how well hes playing; hes still old and his contract is up this summer anyway. Draft picks and expirings to help us tank this year and get more young talent while seeing SSOL reincarnated in Orlando to give it one more go for a couple years competing at a high level.

And yes I know this will never happen but I need something to hold on to, this season is starting to depress me.
