Some of you cats sound like a bunch of crackheads looking for your next fix. First it was Shumpert now it's Lin? He had ONE good game. ONE! Can we please stop it with this mentality that he's gunna save this team...

Don't you guys ever learn? EVER?

I hate when people start throwing out Hall of famers when comparing our players. Stop it already. STOP IT!

No wonder why other fans laugh at Knicks fans.

Is this the right move? Yes, for 1) moving Shump to the bench and playing him in his natural position is definitly a good thing 2) Jermy is our only true point on this team and the only one that seems to make others around him better. Lets just hope he can continue to play smart.

Why must we go through this with every player comparison?

Saying a player A's game has an attribute or attributes of player B's game does not equate to saying player A is as good as player B or will have the same impact.

So... saying Jeremy Lin possesses great vision and passing ability in traffic and does not pick up his dribble LIKE STEVE NASH does not equate to saying he's as good as Steve Nash or even as good as SN is with those particular attributes.

yeah, I'm getting deja vu with the "we finally have someone to penetrate" talk. didn't people say that after Shumpert's first game? Also, Lin definitely has a problem with not being able to go left. then again, there are a fair amount of successful NBA players (Lamar Odom, Jason Terry) who only drive in one direction.

plain and simple hes done the best job at PG so far this season for the NY Knicks. I hope he continues to help, and so far hes earned this gig. i wish him nothing but luck.

also i believe he is a strong combination of Bruce Lee and John Stockton.
There's something about an underdog that really inspires the unexceptional.

It is totally annoying to have to submit comparisons for pre-approval to the thought police.

That's really a cool statistic.

Hey, haven't we all been laboring under the apprehension that Lin was DEFINITELY starting tonight?? I thought that had been ascertained---BUT I just read this from ESPN.com:

D'Antoni 'leaning' toward starting Lin vs. Utah

In just three days, Jeremy Lin has gone from benchwarmer to potential NBA starter.

Lin will likely get his first NBA start on Monday night against the Utah Jazz, according to coach Mike D'Antoni.

D'Antoni -- along with most Knicks fans -- was thoroughly impressed with what he saw from Lin on Saturday against the New Jersey Nets.

The second-year player had a breakout performance, scoring 25 points and handing out seven assists in the Knicks' win.

D'Antoni said at the Knicks shootaround on Monday that he would wait until late Monday afternoon before deciding on his starting point guard.

"It's a game-time decision but he's looking to start probably," the coach said of Lin, a former Harvard standout and the second Asian-American to play in the NBA.
Tanking again, I suppose. Is there any other way?

Exactly...
Lin is ready! This is his moment and he is going to give it all he has...

I believe Bruce Lee's Chinese name was Shao Long, which would mean Small Dragon. Shao Lin has a pretty cool combo with that. I still like Linsanity though from a less racial perspective (Lin never emphasized his race (though he didn't avoid it), just wanted to be known as a baller).

Lin actually means forest. So Shaolin translates to 'Little Forest'. Funny thing is he has a Forest Gump haircut (yes totally random thought) and might be as endearing and unexpecedtly skilled in multiple areas as Forest Gump was too.

mpharris36 wrote:shump is much mor valuable coming off the bench and being aggressive with the 2nd unit. Lin is perfect for the 1st unit get Melo, Amare, and Tyson easy looks early.

Shump can now come of the bench and be more agressive attacking which is what we want. He was too passive in the starting lineup.

How about "Half Hour". Once you see him, half hour later you want more? No? Alrighty then.
