J.R. Smith is not a poor defensive player if the coach is disciplined and gets on him about it. Right now, it's hard to deny that he would be a great option if he is willing to play his role.
Tough situation, poor Billups, but in the end, being forced to make a move at the SG position might end up being in the team's best interests. If no Smith, I'm not sure what SG's are available, Keith Bogans?
Right now, there's a whole lot of minutes open at SG and backup SF for any capable swingman.
