He's got work to do but so much to work with. Working on the J is the easiest improvement a very young player can make.

I'm not criticizing him I am just pointing out that he is not the next Dwayne Wade.

That isn't criticism, because you know Wade is really really good while Iman isn't that good and probably never will be.

Reality is not criticism.

I love how people are still saying he's not athletic. If he's not athletic, then how he is taking the opponents off the dribble at will? LOL. Gotta love America

The only player in history to be a finalist for the NCAA Bob Cousy and didn't get drafted.

People see him play and they can see he gets his job done, but they have this thing in the back of their head that tells them "this kid is Asian.. he looks soft... he's too pale" lol...

With all due respect, if he was 6'7 and asian, he'd have been drafted. if he was 6'3 and had one of the top sprint speeds, he'd have been drafted. If he had a bulls-eye 3 pt shot and he was asian, he'd have been drafted.

Try to imagine a 6'3 BLACK combo guard with shorter than average arms for the NBA, less sprint speed than the average NBA PG, not a good enough shot for a SG, but he played SG / backed up PG in college. Now imagine that guy was impressive at a good (but not elite) college team. - would you draft him?

Teams look for an edge - they look for the guy who's the longest, who's the fastest, who's got the 3 pt shot. Team's don't look for the undersized combo guard who has to convert to fulltime PG who isn't an elite athlete and doesn't have a great shot. - he's maybe a guy you draft in the 50s. Doesn't matter what color his skin is.

. . .

so, I'm just saying, it's possible that Lin wasn't snubbed due to racism. It's just as likely, maybe more likely that he was snubbed cause scouts look at skillset over overall-game. It's possible they saw Lin as a college player who didn't have the tools for the NBA.

Not saying Racism didn't play a role either, but I feel it's worth pointing out that scouts look for skillsets when they draft players. I've never heard the line before "he doesn't look as good in practice as he looks in the game", but, that might be a line scouts start to pay attention to if Lin stays this good.

Lin was snubbed due to racism. If one does not see this, then one has never experienced the life of an Asian American male. Lin also started and was the star player of his college team, he was not backup. And his arms look pretty normal to me, sure he may not be Tayshaun Prince, but not many people are. Skill should always be looked at over things such as length, athleticism, etc. Skill and a hard work ethic will overcome. And he's also 6'3", strong, decent athleticism, and smart

there are some good ones here... players usually have more than one nickname so its not like we have to choose just one

"Shao Lin" is definitely the most clever
“Bye, Felicia.”

That's fine but few if any people said he was the next Wade. They said his game type had similarities or reminded people of him.

Comparing impact is a different thing altogether. I think you didn't really get why people said Wade. Not too much because they thought he'd be dominant but because the way he plays, his body type, his skill set was in a similar mold.

Ban him for making an accurate comment about sample size of NBA games? This is a small sample size. Based upon an even larger sample size, this board here happened to push for E. Curry being in the all-star game. It is still early. You hope it pans out, but still it is a small sample size. Also, based on a larger sample size, Earl Barron ended up making people here think he was the answer at Center for the Knicks.

Oh and I think he has a very good chance to be a very good player. Not Wade good but still good.

And I got to question whether you can judge a young guy's game. He missed jumpers, so what. He also made plays that few young players have in them at all talent wise and those are the things you look for at this age. Not makes or misses on J's.

Steve Novak made a lot of J's but I'm not ready to say he's the next Larry Bird.

Lin owning Fisher at the PG position will be hilarious and will only showcase the huge hole in the Laker's roster. 8-)

Iman is still a rookie folks. He's got some time to work on his game, especially dribbling and driving stronger.

As for Lin, hopefully he can be a step closer to being the next Nash when he's his teammate next season.

What helps him is that he's got really strong legs (if you take a look at his calves their pumped) and that helps him with pushing off, changing directions, sharp cuts and fighting through picks.

He has a quick first step, but I don't see him having top end speed. It's that first step and explosive drive that makes him appear quick IMO if that makes sense. I think it's more of a case of him picking his spots and sticking with it.

i think people confuse athleticism with explosiveness alot of the time. its really not the same. athleticism is about dexterity while explosiveness is that second gear that alot of these elite players have that separates them from mortals.

How many games are a good sample size? You start posting/trashing him as soon as he leads the Knicks to 2 straight victories.
