Somehow though we missed on the due diligence on his health, attitude and how he'd respond to Skiles. I have no issues if people want to bang on Skiles on this deal. I'm assuming he had input into this thing as well.

fwiw... right before this deal there were several articles in the charlotte paper talking about how great a shape he was in, how ready to lead he was.... i mean the media was pouring it on like the guy was a buffed out mother theresa.

i seriously cannot believe the way this all went down.

but it is down. he does suck. and his commitment is garbage. i was as big a jackson supporter as there was when we traded for him, and despite his slightly below average efficiency with his years at the cats.. i just still loved his play and what he brought.

but now? he can gtfo -------> the door. NOW.

Smart by Charlotte to pump him up while trying to unload him. Hammond ate it up.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Jax is terrible.

This is what happens when you acquire 33-34 year old guys and then expect them to perform like they have during their primes.

33-34 in the NBA is old as hell. There aren't a lot of guys who stay effective at that age. The great ones can, because they were so good in their primes that they are still damn good when they decline. Some guys who can shoot can continue to be effective, because it doesn't take athletic ability to shoot the ball.

But Jax was never more than a really good role player to begin with. As he declines, he's just going to become useless, as we are seeing now.

I don't get how anyone thought it was shocking going into the year and I don't get how anyone can be shocked by it now. DO NOT SIGN GUYS WHO HAVE BEEN ROLE PLAYERS THEIR ENTIRE CAREERS AND ARE NOW OVER THIRTY TO COME IN HERE, THEN EXPECT THEM TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE.

COMMON. SENSE.

I wasn't expecting him to play like he did in his prime. I would've been happy if he just played like he did last season. That's the crazy thing about Salmons, Maggette and now Jackson. It's not just that they declined (which you could say is predictable given their ages) but they all declined dramatically and in many ways at unprecedented levels.

Serious question: sjax is actually hosting a party in Toronto after they get in?
God is good.

Especially non-bigs.

This is a list of wings and guards who are 33+ who play more than 15MPG. Look at how tiny the list is and look at how ineffective most are.

The guy turns 34 in a couple months. He's probably done.

Considering he's been **** awful and he's not even playing at this point, partying the night before games isn't helping.

I think we are missing the point that the Bucks will get into Toronto around 1AM, then SJax is hosting a party, then they play a game the next day. He has also missed a shoot around already and has played like butt all season. The guy doesn't care. He is getting $9 million and he is out clubbing in the early morning of a gameday. I don't get why it is so hard to understand that this is not acceptable behavior.

How have they been proven correct about a trade most people agree will need a couple more years before its outcome can effectively be determined?

That's a cop out.

Tobes could have been their #1 choice and end up becoming the next Michael Jordan. If he was that good it was foolish to risk dropping 12 spots while hoping they could still acquire him in exchange for adding an early to mid 30's veteran with a known attitude problem who was a solid starter in his prime to a 35-win team. What was the potential reward for the risk, another low playoff seed and first round exit where all we'd have really done was hinder our chances of adding another top talent to contend for the future?

Now that Jackson has not so unpredictably been a lackluster acquisition their plan didn't work out as expected so all they essentially did was extend Maggette's contract a year longer. And the word was Tobias wouldn't have been their top choice at 7 or 10, so if he becomes the best player available after those points they'd have benefited from dumb luck to an extent.

It was obviously a horrible move at the time from whatever angle you look at it. Just like giving Drew Gooden 5-32 was obviously a horrible move at the time when he got 1-4.5 the year prior and had made teams in like 10 different situations worse before he came to the Bucks. This is a front office which shows no easy to envision foresight and lacks common sense even in many cases. The criticism for them requires no delay.

I disagree it's a cop out. For me, the key to the trade has always been what Harris develops into. So it's not a cop out to say we need more time before passing final judgment. At this time, I'd say the Bucks came out ahead in the deal because Harris has been on par (and in many cases better) than the players taken in the 7-19 range, Jackson/Maggette has been a wash and Livingston has been a very shrewd pickup and good addition to the team. As we sit here today, I see nothing horrible about the trade.

Tom Pipines mentioned Stephen Jackson's late night escapades/club parties on the 6:00 news tonight.

paulpressey25 wrote:From the other thread, apparently Jax is going to fly into Toronto after the Phoenix game tomorrow night and go clubbing. (See below). Obviously this will help him prepare for the Raptors game Wednesday night in Toronto.

If you figure the Bucks will be wheels up from Mitchell Field at about 10:45pm tomorrow night, they should land in Toronto and clear customs by 12:30 to 1:00am CST. Add an hour for the time change, Jax should be ready to be picked up by 2:30am EST to go to the club.

If you guys want to do some productive pre-bag night activities, you could print up about 500 of those in 8 by 11 format and pass out to patrons entering the BC tomorrow. I'm guessing no one going to that game tomorrow night has a clue regarding his second career, in addition to the NBA one he's being paid $9.2 million dollars for.

Not sure. I went to their website but couldn't find anything. I can assure you tho that he mentioned it. I chuckled because I was reading this thread as I saw it.

Uhh, yeah it's a 9+ hour drive from Milwaukee to Toronto so if we left right now we would get there at 8 a.m. at the absolute earliest.
