Wizards 2012 versus playoff teams: 1-17, win% of 5%
Average margin of defeat in those 17 losses: 15.1 points
Number of losses with a margin < 8 points: 3 losses, or 17%
Number of losses with a margin of < 10 points: 6, or 47%
One would think this data allows us to draw definitive conclusions. My apologies for giving posters the benefit of the doubt being able to interpret nuance and understand the difference between drawing conclusions and absolute facts. Flew too close the sun I guess.
The obvious conclusion to draw from this data is that the Wizards suck.
I was aware that the Wizards had played a difficult schedule. They have played 18 of 25 games vs playoff teams.

One different conclusion is Wizards are 5-2 vs non-playoff teams.
--A second is the Wizards are 3-5 in games coached by Randy Wittman.
An assertion I will make is that their schedule will be easier than it has been for the rest of the season, because they have played the tough opponents early.
The fraction ¹⁸⁄ ²⁵ converts to 72%. However, only a little over half of NBA teams make the playoffs. Washington has had to face Philadelphia and Chicago multiple times. They've had to face Orlando and Denver. They've faced some toughies. Perhaps the Wizards won't end up looking quite as sucktastic when all is said and done.
Yes, the team does suck. However, the coaching change came at a good time for teachable moments and with easier opponents on the schedule.
Tre Johnson is the future of the Wizards.
