Re: Official Raptors 2012 NBA Draft Thread, Part 5
^^^ That's my issue with MKG. I think him and Johnson are a bit to similar in that the bring pretty much the same things to the table.
I'd rather swing for the fences on a potential All-Star. That's my opinion though

shooting wise, MKG has better form, defense wise, MKG doesnt gamble, hes all about fundamentals, JJ has awful form and gambles alot on D but not that good at man to man D at times, hes just really really good on weak-side help

You can draft MKG and still keep James, there's nothing wrong with having two guys like that.

JJ was more of a power Sf who is doing his damage as an overaged player.
MKG is one of the youngest players in the nation and has taken on the leadership role as a freshman. The kid is a winner, pure and simple.

Re: Official Raptors 2012 NBA Draft Thread, Part 5
This is for Singh, first half recap is written in couple pages earlier
2nd half game recap
Davis overall stat - 16 pts, 8 of 13 FG, 6 (1 off) reb, 2 stl and 4 blk
- its all lob party, easy shots, gets most of the points on alleyoop
- 1 shot off the pull up jumper
- defensively, didnt rebound well this game but had 2 or 3 amazing rebound in traffic
- defensively, big time block on Beal.
- had so much impact in all areas, played good D in the paint, even good perimeter D on Beal couple times,
MKG overall stat - 13 pts, 4 of 8 FG, 5 of 5 FT, 13 (4 off) reb, 3 asts
- execute the offense well (slash and lobs it up twice to Davis and TJ I think)
- plays under poise, let his teammates score cos they were scoring efficiently, only scored 3 pts in 2nd half
- did a delicious spin move on Beal to draw and 1
- knows his role, just staying in front of his man
Beal overall stat - 14 pts, 5 of 15 FG, 1 of 7 FT, 3 of 4 FT, 6 (2 off) reb, 3 ast, 1 stl
- didnt have a good second half
- shots were off
- but showed flashes of penetrating ability, cuts to the lane really well
- absorbs contact really well
- just a tough night cos of the kentucky defense
- always anticipate where to get rebound
- did okay job defending

Steely, you are ignorant again, I was already a die hard MKG fan long before you declare your hard on wet testicle love for MKG. Let you build PJ3 as 1st pick overall right, that will get any team anywhere lol.

Thanks for the recap for all those who couldn't watch it. Fortunately, I caught most, if not all, of the 2nd half. I'm still liking Beal quite a bit. His jumpshot was off, but we know he's a good shooter from scouting reports.

Re: Official Raptors 2012 NBA Draft Thread, Part 5
Since the poll is a bit flawed as some probably assume we are not going to get the 1 or 2 pick, we should do some sort of board power ranking.
Do your top seven players that you would like for the Raptors highest to lowest (assume all players under discussion declare). Assuming we are top 10 pick, team should have to go farther then seven down to get a player. I will accumulate the score in a few days.
1. Anthony Davis
2. MKG
3. Harrison Barnes
4. Andre Drummond (too much potential to push too far down)
5. Perry Jones
6. Thomas Robinson
7. Quincy Miller
Remember this is not necessarily who you think will go as top seven in the draft. Just the seven best prospects if you were drafting for the Raptors

I flip-flop a lot between Barnes and Kidd-Gilchrist. I like Kidd-Gilchrist better, but I think they'll both be about the same level of player and I think Barnes fits better now. So, the list.
1) Anthony Davis
2) Harrison Barnes
3) Michael Kidd-Gilchrist
4) Jared Sullinger
5) Perry Jones III
6) Jeremy Lamb
7) Thomas Robinson

We will go ten deep next time -- I trust Jose will lead us to a late lotto pick.
